Not sure how thick a whale omelette is, I have never heard this phrase before, but you are right about Mary being stupid. She might have been a journalist but she is certainly no investigative journalist, if she was she would be recording Faye's threats and going to the police. Mary has not done anything illegal so I doubt anyone would care about the photo, how bad can it be. As they say "Today's news, tomorrow's (digital) chip paper".

Did not realize Mary had classic car, Triumph Herald, I had one of those but it was not classic at the time, just used.

I never had a Herald but I always fancied having a Vitesse 6 convertible. Mary always annoys me !!!!

Quite right. She should have recorded the threats and gone to the police, or grabbed the phone and deleted it herself.
Interesting point about the Triumph Herald, I too had one in my youth. Great little car.

Emmerdale coppers fail again. As everything Faye was threatening concerned her using her phone, why wasn't it confiscated by the police due to witness tampering.

Who would have thought that Mary had so many phone munbers

It would seem that Mary has the phone number of everyone in the village, but why, when her only interaction with most of the villagers is to say hello, and pass the time of day, if she meets them in the street. I cannot believe she would ever have any need to phone some of them.

Soap characters always seem to have the phone numbers of people they barely relate to.
