Dont forget, Moira was in distress and needed help, all Adam could do was grab a shot gun and go chase a mad lady, just by the intent he had that day he deserves all he gets.

May have misheard something in this Emma plot. Wasn't bruising to the side of Emma's face ,supposedly occurring prior to her fall the reason murder was suspected in Emma's death ? If so,in Adam's quite detailed confession he made no mention of hitting Emma ,only grabbing her. Again , if this is the case ,it wasn't followed up in Adam's interview. Yet in Moira's account ,the slap was very significant in her viaduct meeting with Emma.

The guilt has already having Moira turn to drugs and away from Issac, this will make it worse having Adam in prison for her crime

He left the hospital to look for Moira or the baby, he meet Cain and Moira at the farm as far I recall

I think he was using Victoria's car as Moira had the farm truck and Adam's car was in the garage used by Ross
