Neighbours star Matthew Werkmeister will remain in Ramsay Street "well into next year" despite media reports that he is leaving the series, Digital Spy can confirm.
On Monday, the Herald Sun reported that Werkmeister, 17, had quit the soap and is planning a move to New York to produce a reality show.
"I've always wanted to produce," Werkmeister was quoted as saying at the Logies.
However, a Neighbours spokesperson today told DS: "Matt Werkmeister is on a contract with Neighbours which will take him well into next year."
It was recently announced that a number of current stars will depart Neighbours later this year, including Sam Clark, Steve Bastoni, Eloise Mignon, Nikki Coghill and Fletcher O'Leary.
