Meera Syal joins Holby

Actress Meera Syal is joining the cast of HOLBY CITY this Summer.

Meera will play the role of Dr Tara Sodi, a character who is described as 'a bit of a prickly character. When she arrives at Holby General, it won't be long before she rubs a few of the other doctors up the wrong way.'

Meera is famed for her appearances in sitcom Goodness Gracious Me. She is also a successful author and wrote the book of hit musical 'Bombay Dreams'.

She was also in Goodness Gracious me. She is a fantastic actress. There has been a hole since Lola Griffin left. Holby needs another feisty female to match up to Connie, who frankly, I have had enough of. Yay!
