EastEnders star Jacqueline Jossa has struck a major new deal with the BBC ahead of her return as Lauren Branning.
According to The Sun, Jossa has made a groundbreaking deal with EastEnders which permits her to take on lucrative brand deals. The move, which is unprecedented, could pave the way for other soap stars to make more money than previously allowed.
By negotiating the change in her contract, Jossa will be able to continue to work with big name brands such as In The Style - a company she currently works with.
A spokesperson for EastEnders said to Digital Spy: "As with all talent, we are working with Jacqueline Jossa to ensure her pre-existing deals do not conflict with the show or BBC guidelines."
Back in September, Jossa's return to the soap was confirmed. She previously made a guest appearance earlier this year as part of Thomas Law's Peter Beale return storyline.
Jossa, who left the soap in 2018 after starring as Lauren for eight years, also made a brief cameo appearance last year when she returned for Dot Branning's funeral.
"I'm really excited,"Jossa said of her return. "It's such an amazing time to be back as there is so much buzz around EastEnders at the moment. I've been watching and loving it like a fan. Walford holds a special place in my heart, so it really does feel like coming home."
Just last month, Jossa opened up about how long fans can expect to see Lauren in the soap. In an Instagram Q&A Jossa said: "It's as permanent as anyone there is permanent. Obviously, you can get written out at any time but yeah, it's not a flying visit this time, it's back back. I think it's been so good recently. I'm actually worried to come back and ruin it."
