I guess I am lucky to have been at a great age when Madonna came out (I was 12) and I have seen her transform over the years.. she never ever fails to amaze me with her re-inventions.. I have seen others try and fail but she gets stronger and stronger each time she comes back.. Love her or loath her, you have got to admit she is damn good at what she does

Madonna has equalled Elvis Presley's record for the most number one albums by a solo artist.

Her 36-track Greatest Hits compilation, Celebration, debuts in the top spot this week to become her eleventh number one on the UK albums chart.

Only The Beatles, with a total of 15 number ones, have reached the summit more often.

Last week's chart-topper, The Resistance by Muse, slips to two.

Meanwhile, Dizzee Rascal scores his highest position yet on the chart after entering at three with fourth LP Tongue N' Cheek.

Mika also debuts inside the top five, landing at four with second studio set The Boy Who Knew Too Much. His debut, Life In Cartoon Motion, topped the chart upon its February 2007 release.

The top ten albums in full (click where possible for our reviews):

    1. (-) Madonna: 'Celebration'
    2. (1) Muse: 'The Resistance'
    3. (-) Dizzee Rascal: 'Tongue N' Cheek'
    4. (-) Mika: 'The Boy Who Knew Too Much'
    5. (3) Peter Andre: 'Revelation'
    6. (-) Cliff Richard & The Shadows: 'Reunited'
    7. (2) Vera Lynn: 'We'll Meet Again - The Very Best Of'
    8. (4) Jay-Z: 'The Blueprint 3'
    9. (-) Pearl Jam: 'Backspacer'
    10. (7) Kings of Leon: 'Only By The Night'
