For me, it was EastEnders last year. I loved the storyline with Tanya/Max (Tanya burying Max and then going back for him was an amazing episode) Frank week, Whitney/Tony storyline and reveal, Pat's week where she met Len and we learnt about her daughter who had Down's Syndrome, learning about Ronnie's child.

It does have its faults, but overall, no other soap gripped me as much as EastEnders did last year.

eastenders. i only watch ee and hollyoaks and sometimes neighbours and i think ee was the best, hollyoaks was a bit dull last year, ee had some really good epis, even if some of them were boring!

I thought Hollyoaks lost the plot a bit in 2008.. I still watched but I didn't mind missing an episode or two, as I found some of the storylines rather dull.

I thought 2007 was a good year for it though as I was gripped by each episode and didn't want to miss one! I even preferred it to EastEnders then!

thats what i mean, hollyoaks had started to get really good but i thought it went downhill slightly last year, especially the last half of the year. there were still some epis that i really liked though

Good old Corrie for me, the Liam/Carla/Maria/Tony story and Fiz and John Stape and of course poor Vera dying - from the soaps I watch, EE, Emmerdale and Corrie, I think Corrie was the best.

EE was the best for me.. Tony/Whitney story, Jase getting killed, May returns (that explosion was amazing), Tanya burying Max.. Even Suzy revealing the DNA results.. had me gripped all year... H&W came a very very close 2nd..

home and away for me then eastenders, I think its because we always have such high expectations from EE that we notice the great storylines in the other soaps more. I dont think its fair that home and away and neighbours dont get nominated because they are australian soaps, the soap awards should be for all the soaps, home and away deserve some awards from us too
