    Exclamation Corrie Spoilers 22nd - 26th May 2023

Coronation Street's Billy Mayhew looks likely to discover Paul Foreman's secrets next week, as he follows his partner to court.

The archdeacon has spent the past few weeks in the dark over Paul's criminal behaviour and his recent diagnosis.

The ITV soap has begun exploring an emotional exit storyline for Paul, who has been diagnosed with Motor Neurone Disease (MND).

Paul has been determined to provide financial support for his family while he still can, so he recently stole a car from Rufus Donahue's home but ultimately got caught by the police.

In next week's episodes, Billy starts to notice Paul behaving strangely. His suspicions are aroused when Paul has an unexpected argument with his twin sister Gemma Winter just a few days before her wedding to Chesney Brown.

Billy urges Paul to apologise to Gemma following the seemingly-petty row, but Paul refuses to discuss it.

Taking a different tactic, Billy confides in Paul's friend Dee-Dee Bailey about how worried he is over Paul. He demands to know what's going on, which puts Dee-Dee in a difficult predicament.

Later, Dee-Dee becomes more stressed when Paul goes AWOL on the day of his court sentencing for the car theft.

Damon Hay finds Paul sitting alone in Victoria Garden. Already aware of Paul's terminal diagnosis, Damon urges him to do the right thing by getting down to court and embracing the life that he has left.

Dee-Dee is relieved when Paul arrives at the courthouse just in time for the proceedings to begin.

However, Billy also arrives at the courthouse. How will Billy feel about Paul being charged with a crime?

Plus, will he also find out about Paul's diagnosis, which Paul had previously planned to mention in court in a plea for a lenient sentence?

Coronation Street airs on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 8pm on ITV1 and streams on ITVX.

Coronation Street has been working on Paul's storyline with support from the MND Association, which focuses on improving access to care, research and campaigning for people affected by motor neurone disease.

The charity's helpline MND Connect (0808 802 6262) is available Monday to Friday from 9am to 5pm, and 7pm to 10.30pm. Calls are free.

Coronation Street airs Faye Windass' final scenes next week as Ellie Leach bows out from the role.

Show bosses are lining up a bittersweet ending for Faye, who leaves Weatherfield with Jackson Hodge and their daughter Miley.

In upcoming scenes, Jackson and Miley prepare to leave the area to start their new life in Slough.

The father-daughter duo invite Faye for a final family outing, but she's too heartbroken to face it.

Faye breaks down in front of Gary Windass and admits that she wants to be with Jackson, but feels that she can't leave her current boyfriend Craig Tinker because he knows something that could land her back in prison.

This refers to Craig covering up Faye and Emma Brooker's hit and run, which killed elderly man Ted Spear in January 2022.

Later in the week, Faye does her best to contain her emotions as Jackson and Miley come round to take some family photos before their departure.

Craig senses how upset Faye is, so he suggests that if she wants to leave for Slough with Jackson and Miley, she should go for it.

Faye appreciates that Craig is setting her free, so she packs her bags and leaves with Jackson and Miley.

Craig feels powerless as he watches on, clearly heartbroken to lose Faye.

Ellie Leach's departure from the role of Faye was first revealed in April.

Speaking to Digital Spy and other media about Faye's big decision, Ellie explained: "Faye does love Craig, but she's not in love with him anymore. Jackson has come in and said: 'This is what I want, I want you, I want this family. Come and move with us and we can be a family together'.

"It's hard for Faye because it's a question of ? do you go with your head or heart?

"In the final scene, Faye is in the taxi leaving and Craig is walking up the street. Faye asks for them to stop the car and she goes back to Craig, telling him that she loves him, she always has and she always will.

"It was just so, so emotional. You see there are two people here who do love each other, but there are so many other factors. Love isn't always enough, and you can definitely see that in the final scene."

Craig assures Faye that he would never report her to the police and he goes on to suggest they should buy a flat together and set a date for the wedding.

Later, when Tim admits how relieved he is that she chose Craig, Faye feels more trapped than ever.

Jackson and Miley invite Faye for a last family outing before they leave but she can't face it. Instead she breaks down to Gary and admits that she wants to be with Jackson, but she can't leave Craig because he knows something that could land her back in prison.

Meanwhile, Chesney lies that he's sorted the flowers and the sound system for the wedding by calling in a couple of favours from some old mates.

Paul tells Dee-Dee how he's come across a new drug on the internet which claims to cure MND. Hopeful, he visits the MND clinic hoping to discuss the new drug but without success.

Rita suggests that Gemma has a joint stag and hen do with Chesney to cut costs and she offers to put some cash behind the bar.

Elsewhere, Eliza's belated birthday party gets underway in Speed Daal. Promising Eliza a surprise, Roy and Sam wow the party guests with a science display. However, a jealous Hope slyly es the science experiment, and as it bursts into huge flames, Yasmeen grabs the fire extinguisher.

Also today, Aggie asks Steve and Tracy when they're going to fix their roof and remove the scaffolding. In the caf?, Brian introduces Isabella to Glenda and Bernie, but when Glenda tries to engage her in a conversation about Italy, Isabella ignores her leaving Glenda and Mary taken aback. Weatherfield acid attacker Justin Rutherford pleads guilty to assault in next week's Coronation Street.

Having been the intended target of Justin's cruel plan on the morning of her and Daniel Osbourne's wedding day, Daisy Midgeley was saved from a life of disfigurement by the brave Ryan Connor, who threw himself in front of the acid as it was launched through the air.

The latest part of this ongoing Corrie storyline will see Daisy reminding her loved ones that the evil stalker is due in court that day, telling Ken Barlow and Daniel that she'll never be able to relax until he's locked up.

A little later on in The Rovers, Daisy informs landlady Jenny Connor that Justin pleaded guilty, although he'll remain a free man for a bit.

Jenny assures the worked-up barmaid that it'll be a different story after the following week's trial for the acid attack itself and Justin's additional crimes.

However, there's still a lingering sense of danger while he walks among them.

In last month's Corrie, hero Ryan was left appalled by the fact Justin plead his innocence in front of the court.

Addressing this twist last month, actor Ryan Prescott said: "Ryan is furious because he expected Justin to plead guilty, for justice to be served and for the Justin situation to go away, as it should.

"Because Justin has pleaded not guilty to what he did to Ryan but he has pleaded guilty to the other counts involving Daisy, it feels personal to Ryan. He is really, really upset by this and obviously he is really angry and this flares up an aggression in him."
