    Exclamation Corrie Spoilers 29th May - 2nd June 2023

    https://www.digitalspy.com/soaps/cor...ghts-may-2023/

Coronation Street will air in a special schedule later this month as the Britain's Got Talent live shows return.

The long-running soap will be following its usual spring tradition by screening a big week of episodes to tie in with the Britain's Got Talent semi-finals.

New schedules just released have confirmed that this year's big Corrie week will air between Monday, May 29 and Friday, June 2.

Corrie will air a 30-minute episode every evening at 7.30pm, followed by the Britain's Got Talent performance shows in a two-hour slot from 8pm.

Emmerdale will shift back to the earlier time of 7pm for the week, airing for 30 minutes from Monday to Friday.

As always, Corrie storylines will be taking a dramatic turn to coincide with the special scheduling.

Gemma Winter and Chesney Brown's wedding will take place that week, as already revealed in recent on-screen conversations between the couple.

Gemma and Chesney are determined to enjoy a day to remember, but they're still unaware that Gemma's twin brother Paul Foreman has recently been diagnosed with Motor Neurone Disease (MND).

Gemma is also in the dark over how much Chesney has been letting Linda Hancock pay towards the wedding. Could secrets start to cast a shadow over the big day?

Meanwhile, Justin Rutherford's trial for Ryan Connor's acid attack has also been confirmed to take place that week.

With lives changed forever as a consequence of Justin's actions, will justice finally be served?

Further storyline details for the big episodes will be revealed officially next week.

BBC One's EastEnders will retain its 7.30pm slot between Monday to Thursday on the week in question, clashing with Coronation Street. However, dedicated fans are likely to create their own scheduling as EastEnders is now released early on the BBC iPlayer each morning at 6am.

Chesney Brown and Gemma?s wedding suffers a hitch in tonight?s episode of Coronation Street at 8.00pm

Note: Coronation Street will air shorter episodes every evening this week to make way for the Britain's Got Talent 2023 live shows.

As Gemma prepares for her wedding, Billy tries to persuade Paul to attend. After hearing from Joseph that Gemma has been crying, Paul apologises and all is forgiven.

In the church, the congregation watches as Paul, battling his symptoms, walks Gemma down the aisle in the jaw-dropping dress of her dreams.

As Chesney Brown and Gemma exchange vows to cheers from family and friends, it looks like nothing can ruin their day... but this is a soap wedding after all.

However, things take a bad turn when Bernie finds out that Linda secretly funded the wedding. Of course, Bernie doesn't take too kindly to the news and all hell breaks loose... and so in a desperate bid to diffuse the situation, Paul makes a speech, but becoming emotional he hurries out, dragging his foot as he goes.

Will Gemma decide to confront him about what is going on and face heartbreak on her wedding day?

Justin?s sister, Karen, calls at the Rovers, telling Daisy how sorry she is for her brother?s attack and how she hopes he?ll be sent down. Daisy?s touched by her support.

As Freddie goes in for his operation, Nina reveals to Evelyn that Roy?s sleepwalking again as he is worried about his own operation.

    TUESDAY

In a bid to diffuse the drama between Linda and Bernie over the wedding money, Paul Foreman tries to make a speech on Gemma's wedding day, but becoming emotional he hurried out, leaving Gemma demanding to know what was really going on with him.

Did he tell her the truth about his devastating diagnosis on her special day? Or will he save the truth for another time?

Later, Gemma joins Chesney for the first dance but will Chesney notice that there is something wrong with his wife?

Determined to grab happiness while he still can, Paul drags Gemma up for a duet, as Billy and Bernie hit the dance floor. Will the wedding be the happiest or worst day of Gemma?s life?

Elsewhere, Carla and Ryan are appalled to see Justin?s sister in the Rovers and a row ensues between them all. Throwing insults, Ryan reminds Daisy how she went out of her way to split him up from Alya.

Also in Weatherfield, Roy returns home from the vets with Freddie and Evelyn urges him to tell Nina about his operation next week.

Roy sets about writing a letter to Nina but will his anxiety overtake his desire to be honest with her? And what will he say in his letter when he eventually gets around to writing one?

    WEDNESDAY

As Ryan Connor leaves for court, Karen admits that she passed on what she gleaned about Daisy?s history of manipulation to Justin?s lawyer.

Ryan is gutted and decides to let himself back into the Street Cars flat, too distressed to face the court.

When he fails to turn up at court, Carla desperately tries to call him but is worried when he doesn?t pick up the phone. Daisy heads to the flat and is stunned when Ryan reveals that Karen was spying on them.

She begs Ryan to reconsider, as without his evidence, Justin could walk free. What will he decide?

Paul reveals that today he?ll find out if he?s suitable for Tofersen treatment and Billy offers to accompany him to his appointment with the MND specialist. The pair are full of nerves ahead of the appointment, but hopeful that there will be good news waiting for them.

Will they get the news they are hoping for or will Paul be left facing an uncertain future?

Realising he?s been sleepwalking again and left the cafe door open, Roy, Nina and Evelyn go out in search of Freddie. Will they find him?

Later, Roy finally plucks up the courage to tell Nina about his operation and hands Evelyn a stack of letters for her to distribute should he die.

    THURSDAY

Daisy Midgeley is stressed at the thought of facing Justin in court without Ryan to back her up. Daniel begs him to reconsider, pointing out that if Justin walks free, Daisy will be in constant fear, but Ryan refuses to show up.

As the usher summons Daisy into court, she crumbles and it?s Daniel who takes the witness box, telling the court how Justin relentlessly stalked Daisy in the run up to his acid attack. Daisy?s about to do a runner when Carla spots her, urging her to stand up and prove to Justin that he can?t control her.

As the defence barrister gives Daniel a grilling, painting Daisy as highly strung and unreliable, Daisy enters the witness box. Will she have the strength to face Justin and relive the attack? And will Ryan change his mind and show up to support her?

Evelyn sifts through Roy?s letters until she finds the one addressed to her. She holds it up to the light, desperate to know what it says.

In the hospital, he squeezes a nervous Roy?s hand and wishes him luck as he?s wheeled away for his operation. Will Roy?s procedure be successful?

Also, as an excited Paul packs some last-minute bits for their holiday, Billy pulls up in the church minibus and tells a delighted Paul that he has borrowed it for their trip.

    FRIDAY

Ryan enters the witness box and describes to the court how Justin Rutherford threw the acid intending it for Daisy, but he took the full force causing indescribable pain. Reliving the attack is more than Ryan can bear, but he bravely faces his fears in a bid to get Justin put behind bars for what he has done. But will it be enough?

The defence barrister then cross-examines Ryan, suggesting it?s he who?s in love with Daisy and they plotted the acid attack themselves. As Ryan and Daisy listen they are clearly horrified at the suggestion.

As Justin enters the witness box, how will he describe his version of events and how will the court react to his claims?

Evelyn reads Roy?s letter and is left touched to realise how much she means to him.

As she heads to the hospital to admit her own feelings, she?s put out to find Yasmeen already at Roy?s bedside with a special surprise of her own.

Will Evelyn get the opportunity to open up to Roy?

Having decorated the minibus with inflatable animals, Bernie, Gemma, Todd, Summer, Dee-Dee and Ed wave Billy and Paul off on their caravan holiday.
