Jacqui is surprised to receive a text from her sisters on her birthday saying they cant make it to her party.

Niall snatches Tina and leaves baby Max at Myra's doorstep.

John Paul returns and is kidnapped by Niall.

Newt witnesses Jacqui being forced into a van by Niall.

Niall discovers Jack is still alive and wants to settle and old score with Jack so he beats him up. Apparently Jack sent Niall's dad to jail where he died when he was a police man.

Injured Jack and Darren head to the church where it is full of explosives.

Jack tries to rescue the McQueens.

2406: The Osbornes prepare for their new life in Spain
Airs on Monday, October 13 2008 at 18:30 BST on Channel 4

It's Jacqui's birthday and she's very excited. When she gets various messages from her sisters telling her they can't make it to her party, she thinks everyone's winding her up, but is completely unaware that it's Niall sending all the texts. Jacqui takes the rare opportunity to look after Max, forcing Tony to look after Tan n Tumble while she's away. He's well out of his depth in a tanning salon and hasn't got a clue what to do but with a customer waiting, he's got no choice but to get on with it. The customer leaves happy but Tony's horrified when he realises he's sprayed Jacqui's new dress…

The Osbornes get ready to leave all their troubles behind and set off for a new life in Spain. Darren struggles to deal with his dad's departure but they haven't got any choice. Unlike Cindy, who's thrilled to hear Darren's going to be in charge of the pub and starts planning all the things she can do with the place. Frankie's horrified when Nancy arrives at the pub and quickly heads upstairs to see Charlie - she has to stop her before she sees Jack! She breathes a small sigh of relief when Jack's nowhere to be seen. When Nancy realises Frankie's going away, she tells her she'll go with them to help with Charlie and it's left up to Newt to persuade her otherwise. As the family prepare to leave, Jack and Darren say an emotional goodbye as Newt sneaks out to say goodbye to Lauren…

Niall continues with his plan to abduct the McQueen children. But his plan to take Jacqui is thwarted when Mrs Snow, Niall's former foster carer, turns up in the village to see him. Mrs Snow's concerned about Niall's emotional state and gives him some comforting words but he quickly pulls himself together when she offers to stay the night, desperate to get her to leave. Niall starts his search for Jacqui until he sees a distraught Tina in the village and wastes no time in snatching her, leaving a vulnerable Max on the McQueens' doorstep.

Tina desperately wants to make things work with Russ and invites him for a drink. It all feels a bit weird to Russ but he doesn't want to hurt her and agrees to go along. It's extremely uncomfortable between them as they have very little to say to each other and Russ pleads with Nancy to help him escape. Tina overhears and extremely hurt, rushes off, determined not to cry in front of him. Russ feels terrible when he returns to the flat to find Tina packing her things but he refuses to let her just walk out with his child…


2407: Niall kidnaps Jacqui
Airs on Tuesday, October 14 2008 at 18:30 BST on Channel 4

Myra's worried that something serious has happened to her children when they disappear. When she discovers Tina has abandoned Max on her doorstep, something about the note she left strikes a chord. In a desperate attempt to make Jacqui listen, Myra confesses about abandoning her child. Jacqui's completely stunned as she realises she has another brother and has been lied to all her life. Annoyed, she refuses to listen to Myra's pleas that something terrible is happening. Doubts start to creep into Jacqui's mind, but she's reassured when Tony tells her that everyone will soon show up for her birthday party. She head's off to get ready, but Niall's waiting…

Tony's in the dog house when Jacqui discovers he's ruined her new dress with spray tan but he's soon forgiven when he hands her a gorgeous necklace with the promise of other presents to come - and one very special one!

As Jacqui heads off to get ready, Tony and Dominic prepare Il Gnosh for her birthday party. Russ, however, arrives with news that Tina's missing. Dominic finds it hard to see Russ, especially as he's got Max, as it's a reminder of just how much he's ruined his life. But Dominic's concern now is for Tina.

Newt says goodbye to Lauren. Lauren hates the thought of him going away and tries to persuade him to stay but he can't and he can't explain the reason why. Lauren feels rejected and, not wanting her to hate him, Newt blurts out that Jack's not dead and reveals everything that's been going on. Lauren begins to worry about his mental health and thinks he's stopped taking his medication and he's unable to convince her he's telling the truth.

Unable to let him go, Lauren asks him to run away with her, but she's got some concerns. As Newt rushes home to get his things, Lauren confides in Niall if she's doing the right thing. Niall's not really interested until she tells him that Newt's saying Jack's still alive and suddenly he's very keen to pay a visit to the Osbornes'.

Newt is on his way back to Lauren's when he witnesses Jacqui being forced into a van by Niall…


2408: Niall discovers that Jack is still alive
Airs on Wednesday, October 15 2008 at 18:30 BST on Channel 4

Myra goes to make peace with Jacqui but discovers she too has gone missing. When they find a note in the flat, similar to the ones the other girls left, she knows something's wrong and tells Tony about her past, convinced she's being punished for what she did all those years ago. Seeing Myra's unease, Tony starts to panic and reports the girls missing to the police.

Feeling helpless, Myra and Tony head round to Kieron's flat to see if they can find any clues from the information he pieced together when he tried to help her track down her son. But nothing stands out and she knows it might not have anything to do with her children's disappearance. With no other leads, they head home to wait for news from the police.

Myra gets a text from Tina telling her she needs to speak to her and to meet her at St Eustace church. When she catches sight of the name on the newspaper cutting from when she abandoned her baby, she realises it's the same one. Myra rushes out to the church, unaware of the horror that's about to unfold…

The Osbornes are nervous as they prepare to leave for Spain, hoping that Jack will be able to get through without being caught. But with Newt missing, no-one's going anywhere. Darren's anxious that if they don't leave soon, they could be found out and tensions are high between him and his dad. Frankie's alarmed when Niall turns up and starts questioning how long they're going away for, worried he knows something.

As Frankie sets off in search of Newt, Niall heads into the flat and discovers that Jack is alive. Niall's got a score to settle with him for putting his father in prison and reveals that Myra is his mother and he holds him responsible for abandoning him. Jack's left unconscious as a menacing Niall strikes a blow…

Newt rushes back to Lauren to get help after witnessing Niall bundling Jacqui into his van. But Lauren's already suspicious about his mental state after he told her Jack's still alive and doesn't believe him. Lauren tries to bide her time, not wanting Newt to get into trouble with the police for wasting their time, but Newt gets increasingly agitated and he's scaring her.

With Newt determined to contact the police, the only way she can think to stop him is by offering to do it for him. But Newt's devastated by his friend's betrayal when an ambulance arrives for him instead. Frankie arrives and tries to take control of the situation by taking Newt back home, but when Frankie refuses to acknowledge that Jack is still alive, Newt refuses to go with her and is taken to hospital.


2409: Niall tries to kill the McQueens
Airs on Thursday, October 16 2008 at 18:30 BST on Channel 4

Myra arrives at the church to find Niall waiting for her - and discovers he's her son. Niall embraces his mother but turns on her when she insists on seeing her children, knowing he will never be good enough, and continues to exact his revenge.

Myra's horrified when she sees all her girls are tied up and begs him to let them go but Niall refuses to listen and ties her up beside them, forcing her to admit to them that he's her son. The girls are shocked and beg for mercy as Niall tells them that the whole church is rigged with explosives and he's going to destroy them. His resolve weakens when the girls tell him he can be part of their family but he quickly realises what they're up to and comes up with a little game.

He's proceeds to ask Myra six questions and for each question she gets right, she gets to save one of her children. For each one she gets wrong, she must choose one of them to die. Myra refuses to participate but with the threat of the detonator, she has to. As Niall prepares to kill the chosen ones, Darren and jack burst through the doors. But Niall's determined to go through with his plan and presses the detonator. The church explodes, taking everyone down with it.

Darren's delighted that The Dog is finally his and makes the most of his time alone with Cindy, thinking all the family are well on their way to Spain. But he's horrified when he hears a noise from the flat and discovers his dad badly beaten. Jack tells him about his visit from Niall and that the McQueens are in danger. He has to go and help them, but Darren refuses to let him leave, knowing if he's seen they'll all go to prison. When Cindy sees Jack, he realises the game's up and hurries out to rescue the McQueens, with Darren close behind…

Tony's getting increasingly worried about Jacqui's disappearance and heads to the McQueens' with Dominic to see what's going on. They're cautious when they arrive at the house to find the front door wide open and the place eerily quiet. Tony rings Myra and his worst fears are confirmed when he realises the girls have been abducted when he hears their screams on the other end of the phone.

The phone call is cut short and Tony and Dominic search the house for clues as to their whereabouts. When they find the newspaper cutting for St Eustace church, the boys rush off to find them. Tony and Dominic are completely shocked when they collide with Jack at the church. Tony's angry with him for all the pain he's caused by faking his death but there's no time for that now as they rush to help the McQueens.


2410: The McQueens deal with the aftermath of the blast
Airs on Friday, October 17 2008 at 18:30 BST on Channel 4

Following the blast, the church lies in ruins and the air is filled with smoke. Myra calls out for her children as Carmel, Tina and Michaela stumble towards her. Jack tries to get everyone out to safety as the building could collapse at any minute but Myra's not going anywhere until she finds all of her children. Dominic and Tony recover from the blast but the entrance to the church is blocked.

As they begin to pull all the debris away, Dominic vows never to let Tina out of his sight again. As they desperately try to find everyone, Niall appears, holding John Paul hostage and tells everyone to stay back. But as concrete falls, the floor gives way. Myra and Tina are trapped but as Dominic and Tony fight to free Tina, Niall arrives at Myra's side…

Myra's frightened but Niall starts to feel guilty about what he's done when she tells him she loves him. But John Paul appears, with intense hatred for Niall, and orders him away from his mother. John Paul's forced to work with Niall to free their mum and just as they're about to head to safety a statue comes crashing down and Niall's nowhere to be seen.

As the police arrive, Darren tells Jack it's not too late to get out of there but when they hear that Tina's trapped, Jack resigns himself to the fact that the game's up and hurries back in to help her. As everyone finally gets out of the church to safety, Myra embraces her children, relieved that it's all over, until she realises that one of them is missing…

Cindy's in a state of shock after seeing Jack and when she can't get hold of Darren she calls the police but Frankie returns just in time to stop her. Frankie isn't sure what to say but there's no getting away from it now and she tells Cindy everything. They're both on edge when the police turn up on the doorstep following up their enquiries for the missing McQueens. Cindy struggles not to say anything as Frankie assures the officers they'll call if they hear anything.

But as the officers leave, they hear a message over their radio about an explosion at the church and Cindy wonders if that's where Darren and Jack could be. Frankie and Cindy hurry to the church…
