2400: Frankie and Darren tell Newt the truth

Newt's upbeat and excited about the move to Spain, unaware that Frankie has to break the bad news to him about the adoption. Darren assures Frankie that the move can still go ahead by moving out to Spain in secret. Frankie is shocked that Darren is still considering the idea. Meanwhile, Newt meets up with Lauren and reveals he's leaving Hollyoaks for Spain. Lauren's horrified that she could be losing her best friend and becomes upset, insisting that Newt is making a mistake. Lauren fumes at Newt and he runs back home distraught.
Frankie wonders how they're going to tell him about the adoption while he's in this state. Jack decides Newt has been through enough and begins packing his bags to leave for Spain alone. Darren panics and reveals Newt's already seen Jack alive - so they have to go together. Frankie and Jack are stunned but agree that Newt needs to know the truth once and for all.
Steph's having a bad day. With Cindy on her case at work and Tom bored in his school holidays, she forgets about her date with Niall. Assuring her it's OK, Niall offers to take Tom to the park instead. But Tom is reticent after Holly reveals she saw Niall and Steph kissing.
At the park, Tom is uncommunicative with Niall, but Niall gets to the bottom of it and promises he won't make a move on Steph until he has Tom's approval. Niall and Tom form a bond over their similar situations and Tom decides he does like Niall after all. Steph arrives in the park in a panic after Holly stirs up trouble. Niall assures her that Tom is fine with them being boyfriend and girlfriend but wants to make sure that Steph is, too. Steph confirms that she couldn't be happier. Back at the flat, Steph is met with a hostile Cindy and Mandy when they make no secret about their disapproval of the relationship.
Mandy tries to take Dom's mind of Tina by helping out at Il Gnosh. Mandy encourages Dom to explore some extra-curricular activities and when she spots Elliot with a metal detector, she thinks it's just the ticket. Dom sets off with Elliot on a treasure hunt and the lads seem to be enjoying each others company until their differing opinions on history and science cause friction. Dom becomes annoyed with Elliot's accusations and in a fit of fury breaks Elliot's metal detector. A furious Elliot stomps away, but Mandy convinces Dom to go and make amends pointing out that at least it's taken his mind off Tina.
Calvin and Carmel return from honeymoon with a renewed vigour. Lauren looks forward to their return but her run-in with Newt puts her in a bad mood. Carmel manages to cheer up Lauren and assures her Newt will forgive her. Calvin's thrilled with his new wife, but just as he feels comfortable he gets a text message from Warren welcoming him back to the village.
