Bianca asks Tony to marry her

As Whitney prepares for school, Tony isn't impressed with the length of her skirt and tells her to skip school. However, she says she's promised Peter that she'll learn her lines for the school play. Bianca calls work to inform them that she's going to have to stay at home because Morgan's ill. Tony realises that Whitney's heading home and tries to convince Bianca to go to work, but to no avail. As the doctor diagnoses Morgan with chicken pox, Whitney returns and is unimpressed to find Bianca and Tony together.

Later, Bianca tells Whitney of her intentions to marry Tony and wonders if she'll drop a few hints. When Bianca turns around, Whitney's gone. With Bianca out of the house, Whitney tells Tony about Bianca's dream of marrying him, but all Tony can think about is leaving with Whitney in three months. At this point, Whitney reveals the cash she kept behind from the lottery win. As Bianca tells Tony she wants them to get married, Whitney makes a quick escape and before she knows what's happening, Tony produces the lottery money Whitney gave him and tells them that it's their deposit for a house.

Bianca tells Whitney about the money but when she's left the room, Tony reassures her that it was to buy them some more time. Whitney's just about reached breaking point and tells Tony that she can't carry on the way they are anymore and is shocked when Tony tells her that he no longer loves her. He takes the postcard of Whitney's dream place out and rips it up.

Elsewhere, Jack discusses moving to France with Tanya and the kids; Yolande discovers that the freezer has defrosted in the Minute Mart; Archie convinces Peggy to wear an old blouse; Stacey's unsettled about parenthood when she attends a work meal with Bradley; Patrick sells some of the defrosted food; Suzy panics when she discovers Max's gun under the kitchen sink, much to Max's surprise; Stacey clutches a packet of contraceptive pills as she and Bradley head off for their romantic break; and Suzy lies to Max about where the gun is.

Suzy surpries Max with baby Oscar

After lying to Max as to the whereabouts of the gun, Suzy tells him to pull himself together and says that he should be glad that she still cares about him. Annoyed that his plan has seemingly failed - and unaware that Suzy has the gun - Max asks Phil if he can get hold of another one for him but he refuses. Suzy pays Phil a visit to ask him to keep Max under control, before dropping in on Tanya to ask her why she won't let Max have access to his own kids. Later, Suzy surprises Max when she walks in with baby Oscar for Max to look after.

Meanwhile, Whitney catches Tiffany trying to piece together the torn postcard and is furious with Tony. Bianca, however, tells her that she can get another postcard and to stop making such a fuss about nothing. Tony finds Whitney in the gardens crying and again reassures her about the money, before inviting her back home for some 'special time'.

When Whitney returns home, Tony's infuriated that she's secured a part-time job at a café. He accuses a devastated Whitney of getting a job so that she can spend less time with him. Tony won't let her explain, riling Whitney to the point that she threatens to tell Bianca about their relationship.

Elsewhere, Danielle has a disastrous day on the stall; Yolande's still mad with Patrick for selling defrosted food; Dot's stuck at home suffering from food poisoning; Pat's becoming increasingly suspicious of Archie's behaviour towards Peggy; Mo gives Danielle a masterclass in market selling; Heather discovers that Dot is ill; Peggy stands her ground with Archie, Dot accuses Tamwar of poisoning her in front of the whole market; and Danielle discovers Stacey's contraceptive pills when she drops the stall's takings round to Dot's.

    Tony punches Peter
Feeling betrayed, confused and unloved, Whitney is sitting in her room, while Tony's outside trying to get her to open the door. As soon as she plucks up enough courage, she makes her way downstairs and is about to tell Bianca the truth about her and Tony until Tony starts talking first. Bianca, however, thinks Whitney has a crush on Peter Beale but is too afraid to admit it. Later in the café, Bianca sees Tony and Whitney whispering and wants to know what they're talking about. Whitney reveals that Tony has agreed to help her learn her lines, while Bianca surprises Tony with the possibility of a job.

Lucas speaks to Tony about the possibility of a job and Tony asks when he can start. Lucas, however, informs him that it's not as easy as just turning up as he'll be working with children and he'll have to make the relevant statutory criminal record checks. Tony confesses that he has been in prison for ABH and Bianca steps in to mention that he was only protecting Whitney. Lucas agrees to give him a chance, on the condition that the checks are done. As Whitney's rehearsing with Peter, they both end up in fits of laughter until Tony storms in, pulls Peter away from Whitney and punches him in the face. Whitney can't believe it.

Meanwhile, Pat has a sore head from her drinking session with Peggy the night before, while Archie is less then welcoming. He tells Peggy that he's happy to pay for Pat to have a hotel and explains how Peggy's too good for her, just as Pat emerges from the toilet. Tensions soon mount between the old friends as Pat confronts Peggy about where the 'old Peggy's gone'.

Elsewhere, Yolande tries to get Dot to change her story about the prawn sandwich; and Suzy tries to play matchmaker between Max and Denise.

    Bradley has an allergic reaction
Clearly worried about punching Peter the previous night, Tony asks Whitney if she's spoken to him today. She reassures him that she's trying her best to get hold of him but his phone is switched off. Meanwhile, at the Beales', Jane is concerned that Peter's not emerged from his room for breakfast. When he eventually surfaces, Jane's shocked to see the state of his face. Peter, however, manages to avoid questions about how it happened. Whitney finally catches up with Peter on the Square where she tries to explain that it was all an accident, but Peter's not interested in what she has to say. She eventually persuades him to keep quiet about the incident.

Later, Peter tells Lauren that it was Tony who gave him the black eye and assures her that she's his girlfriend, not Whitney. Tony catches up with Peter and apologises for what happened last night. Lucy, meanwhile, sees the exchange between the pair and instantly works out that Tony is responsible for the state of Peter's face. Storming over to Pat's house, Lucy confronts Tony, who professes his innocence and claims that Peter was taking advantage of Whitney. Will Lucy go to the police?

Elsewhere, Bradley and Stacey return from their romantic break; Suzy plays matchmaker between Denise and a mysterious man called Kwame in the salon; Peggy's impressed with Danielle's cleaning work at The Vic; Danielle confronts Stacey about the contraceptive pills she found earlier in the week; Stacey agrees to come clean with Bradley; Patrick and Yolande receive a visit from a Minute Mart manager; Callum discovers that Stacey's back on the Square; Bradley has an allergic reaction to a walnut cake; and Denise appears to enjoy Lucas's company.

Archie lies to Ronnie about her mail

Ronnie goes to The Vic to collect her post, but Archie lies to her and says that there hasn't been any. Later, she returns to the pub and is about to sneak upstairs when Danielle startles her. Instead of snooping around upstairs herself, Ronnie bribes Danielle with a couple of shifts at R&R and some cash in hand in exchange for retrieving her mail. Just as Danielle discovers that Archie's been hiding Ronnie's letters from her, Archie walks in on her. He forces Danielle to call Ronnie to say that she has her letters but Archie keeps one back.

When Ronnie arrives to collect her post, she's shocked to learn that Danielle has told Archie about their deal. Frustrated at the situation, Ronnie storms out. Danielle later sees Ronnie in the Square and apologises for what happened earlier. She hands her an envelope she found in one of the bins at The Vic. Inside is an invitation to a school reunion.

Later, Archie bumps into Ronnie and the pair have a heated exchange about the missing post. Confronting her father about withholding the reunion invitation, Archie snipes back that she has nothing to show for the last 15 years.

Elsewhere, Stacey's fussing around Bradley after his allergic reaction last week; Bradley worries about his appraisal tomorrow; Morgan's recovered from his bout of chicken pox; Whitney's nearing the end of her tether over her situation with Tony; Max warns Stacey about Callum; Dot's concerned by Yolande's choice of music for the harvest festival service; Tony turns his attention to Lauren; Yolande's fuming when she discovers that Dot's complained to the vicar about her choice of song; Bianca asks Tony to marry him; and Jack informs Tanya that they've had an offer on the house - they'll be in France by the end of the month.

Max gives Callum a cheque for £1,000
Airs on Tuesday, September 30 2008 at 19:30 BST on BBC One

Callum's talking on his mobile phone in the Square and tells a friend that he'll have made a decision about whether to leave Walford by the end of the day. However, his thoughts are interrupted when Max hands him a cheque for £1,000 to leave Walford for good. Callum is forced to re-think his position. A brief chat with Stacey confirms his decision. He later heads across to Dot's and confronts Bradley about the cheque. Callum throws it back at him, leaving a humiliated Bradley open-mouthed on the doorstep as the reality of Max's actions sets in.

Meanwhile, Whitney's worried that Tony's going to marry Bianca. Tony, however, tells a distraught Whitney that there's going to be a wedding whether she's involved or not. Worried about Whitney, Bianca suggests that Tony speaks to her. However, she comes to the conclusion that she's probably quiet because she feels left out now that Tony's out of prison.

Later, Bianca tells Whitney that she wants all of them to be one big happy family and assures her that when they're married, Tony will become her proper dad. Annoyed by her revelation, Whitney shouts that Tony will never be a proper dad to her, prompting Bianca to leave the room. Bianca tries to gather everyone downstairs to toast her and Tony's engagement. When Tony produces a ring, Whitney's upset that he's used the money she gave him to buy it.

Elsewhere, Stacey reassures Bradley that his appraisal will go well; Bianca's on the lookout for a new flat; Christian's missing Roxy; Yolande's nervous about her meeting at head office; Pat senses there's something not quite right about Bianca and Tony's engagement; Tanya tells Lauren that she can't go on the skiing trip; Christian offers to go to Ronnie's school reunion with her; Tony flirts with Lauren; and Christian discovers the real reason why Ronnie doesn't want to go to her reunion.

    Bradley wishes his Max dead

Bradley's staring at Max's £1,000 cheque made out to Callum as Dot enters. She senses that something's wrong with him, but Bradley covers. The phone rings and Dot's surprised to hear the vicar on the line and is even more surprised when he tells her that he's returning Bradley's call. Stacey's taken by surprise when Bradley asks her in front of Dot and the vicar whether she'll renew her wedding vows. She reluctantly agrees. Later, Bradley confronts Max over the cheque he gave to Callum. Max confesses that it was to protect him, but Bradley doesn't believe him and thinks the situation has more depth to it.

After hearing Max's thoughts, Bradley returns home to find everyone organising the wedding vow ceremony. When Stacey heads across to the stall to see Danielle, Bradley discovers the stash of contraceptive pills in her bag. On Stacey's return to the house, Bradley confronts her over Max's cheque, the contraceptive pills and her involvement with Callum. Stacey denies that anything has happened between her and Callum and is stunned into silence when Bradley asks her if he'll ever be 'the one' for her. Stacey admits that she'll never be able to love him as a wife should love her husband and she's thrown when Bradley insists that she should be with Callum.

Later, a reluctant Stacey heads across the Square to tell Callum that she's ended things with Bradley, while Bradley pays Max a visit and blames him for everything. Wishing him dead, Bradley knocks Max to the floor, leaving him gasping for breath.

Elsewhere, Patrick tells Heather about his and Yolande's new job in Birmingham; Denise starts to arrange a leaving party for Patrick and Yolande; and Christian drags Ronnie to her school reunion.

    Yolande leaves Walford

Bianca's worried about Whitney who has locked herself in her room and is refusing to talk to anyone. Tony, meanwhile, is worried that Whitney's going to expose their affair but is soon distracted when Lauren walks past and catches his eye. He follows her home and tries to persuade her to get involved at the community centre. Max arrives at the house and prompts Tony to make a sharp exit.

As tensions mount, Lucas arrives at Pat's to speak to Tony about the community centre. When Lucas hears that a troubled Whitney isn't talking to anyone, he offers to speak with her. A worried Tony looks on as Lucas heads upstairs. Whitney lets Lucas in, and starts to talk but soon clams up.

When Lucas heads back downstairs, Bianca hits the roof when he tells her that Whitney won't tell him what's wrong with her. She charges upstairs and kicks the bedroom door in and tells her to tidy herself up. As they're about to leave, Bianca goads Whitney into telling her exactly what she thinks.

Meanwhile, Patrick confides in Dot that he doesn't want to move to Birmingham, while Yolande continues with the organisation of their leaving party. With everyone gathered in The Vic to say goodbye, Yolande makes a surprise announcement - she's moving to Birmingham without Patrick.

At the tube station, Yolande's saying goodbye to Denise until Patrick turns up and promises that as soon as he's sold the house, he'll move to Birmingham with her.

Elsewhere, Christian finds Lee's business card in his jacket pocket and decides to give him a call; Bradley packs Stacey's belongings; Jack arranges for Lauren and Peter to go on an activity weekend together, much to Max's annoyance; Stacey tells Callum she needs more space; Bradley gambles £10,000 on the horses; Max pays Peter a visit and asks him to break off his relationship with Lauren; and Christian provides Ronnie with Joel's contact details after going for a drink with Lee.
