Brookie Close trashed, man stabbed!

A LIVERPOOL security guard was stabbed with a screwdriver as teenage yobs rampaged through the Brookside Close set.

The man was attacked on Friday night after being called to the West Derby site by neighbours.

When he arrived he found a gang of youths, aged about 14, smashing house windows and garage doors at the one-and-a-half acre site, off Deysbrook Lane.

As the guard confronted the yobs one of them stabbed him with a screwdriver.

He suffered a cut to his stomach.

The gang left behind a trail of devastation at the famous close, with the front of houses badly damaged.

A friend of the injured man said: “He was telling the kids to clear off when one came at him with a screwdriver and shoved it into him.

“The place is in a bit of a mess with all the windows smashed and garage doors ripped off.

“They should seal the place off to stop people getting in there as anyone can drive in at the moment.”

It could cost thousands of pounds to repair the site recently put on the market for £2m.

An administration firm is providing temporary security while a new buyer for the 13 houses, including the notorious Number 10 where Trevor Jordache was murdered, is found.

Residents who live nearby said they are concerned about their safety as the gang is known for setting fire to houses in the area.

A police spokeswoman said: “We received a report of criminal damage at the old Brookside Close set at 11.20pm on Friday.

“It was reported by the security firm after the youths had left and we advised them to ring us if they returned to the area.”

A spokeswoman for Merseyside Police added: "It's vital that victims come forward and we would urge anyone who is attacked or a victim of crime to come forward so we can investigate."

it's shocking that channel 4 has let the site get into such a state, all those years, all those memories and they just let it rot away, like some derelict graveyard. they should have done the houses up, sold them on, and kept the place preserved for eternity.

I agree they've took no care of it at all. ive seen recent vids on youtube and its a state now, as if it never even existed.

Channel four dont own the site anymore. They sold it on a few years ago. I dont understand why is was left to rot, why the new owners didn't do up the houses and sell them off.
