'Got Talent' track tops singles chart

A track featured on ITV's Britain's Got Talent has stormed to the top of the singles chart.

Mint Royale's remix of 'Singin' In The Rain' was used last week in the winning routine from 14-year-old breakdancer George Sampson. Its ascent to the top spot ends Rihanna's two-week reign over the chart with 'Take A Bow', which falls to two.

US singer-songwriter Sara Bareilles cracks the top ten, climbing nine places to six with her 'Love Song'. After fourteen weeks in the chart, Gabriella Cilmi's 'Sweet About Me' hits a new peak of seven.

The week's highest new entrant is Morrissey, who debuts at 24 with 'All You Need Is Me'.

The top ten UK singles in full:

    1. (28) Mint Royale: 'Singin' In The Rain'
    2. (1) Rihanna: 'Take A Bow'
    3. (2) Ting Tings: 'That's Not My Name'
    4. (3) Duffy: 'Warwick Avenue'
    5. (7) Ne-Yo: 'Closer'
    6. (15) Sara Bareilles: 'Love Song'
    7. (14) Gabriella Cilmi: 'Sweet About Me'
    8. (4) Madonna ft. Justin Timberlake: '4 Minutes'
    9. (6) Sam Sparro: 'Black and Gold'
    10. (5) Will.i.am ft. Cheryl Cole: 'Heartbreaker'

It was out in 2005 but flopped cos no one bothered to give it a chance at the time I personally think its amazing, that much that I don't even mind about it knocking Rihanna off !

His winning performance was a mix of two songs. There was about five seconds of the second song in the middle of Singing In The Rain.

It was on Britain's Got More Talent on the night before the final. Stephen said that the tech guys hadn't mixed the two songs so George hadn't rehearsed his performance.
