    Spoilers 12/05/08

    Monday 12 May 2008

Bob (Tony Audenshaw) worries for Viv (Deena Payne) when she starts having nightmares about Freddie. Further doubts surface when Viv takes to distributing e-fits of Freddie door-to-door but he reluctantly agrees to help out. In search of Freddie a desperate Viv accosts a stranger thinking it is him. The stranger is about to call the police, but Bob’s desperation persuades him to back off. However, Viv is mortified to see Donna (Verity Rushworth) turn up later to reprimand her after Bob fills her in. Is Viv running out of time?

Elsewhere Shadrach (Andy Devine) is surprised to find Gennie (Sian Reese-Williams) and Brenda (Lesley Dunlop) at the door. Brenda apologises for getting off on the wrong foot and asserts that they have always vowed to not get in the way of their daughter getting to know her biological family so will keep their promise. After settling down to see baby photos of Gennie, the Dingles persuade Brenda and Gennie to stay for dinner. Can Shadrach finally be the father to Gennie he never got the chance to be?

Meanwhile Katie (Sammy Winward) is disappointed when Jonny (Richard Grieve) sides with Perdy (Georgia Slowe) and says he can’t go to the engagement party. The day worsens when Chas (Lucy Pargeter) cancels to have dinner with the Dingles and the guest list sinks to zero when Donna and Marlon (Mark Charnock) do likewise.

    Tuesday 13 May

Donna (Verity Rushworth) and Ross (Samuel Anderson) agree to help Viv (Deena Payne) and are pointed to an empty house belonging to Freddie. They find a pile of unopened bills addressed to Viv. Donna is desperate to inform CID but Ross urges her to play it down as they weren’t on duty. Nevertheless, Donna tells Viv of her intention to tell the investigating officer and asks her mum to stay put.

Viv panics and heads to the house with Bob (Tony Audenshaw) to retrieve the post. Bob gets the post but on leaving is met by a police officer who arrests him for breaking and entering. At the police station, Bob is surprised to hear they are dropping the charge as they have just found out that the house was being rented to a Viv and Bob Hope. After Viv has also been arrested the couple have to take place in a line up. Will they be cleared or left bang to rights?

Elsewhere Nicola (Nicola Wheeler) is unimpressed on her 30th birthday and Paddy (Dominic Brunt) shocks her by saying her services at the vets are no longer required. Nicola tries to convince Paddy to keep her working at the vets but Paddy won't budge. However, outside Nicola accidentally traps Paddy’s hand in the car boot, leaving him screaming in pain. With Paddy’s hand out of action, Nicola reiterates her usefulness to him.

    Thursday 15 May

Ashley (John Middleton) and Laurel (Charlotte Bellamy) venture out into the village but immediately regret it as they begin to attract knowing looks from other villagers. Seeing Greg (Shaun Prendergast) and Jake (James Baxter) in the pub, Ashley questions whether Mel (Caroline Strong) will be back before the hearing. Jake retorts angrily, blaming Ashley for her disappearance. On the morning of the hearing, Ashley fails to convince Laurel to attend. Instead, she bumps into Greg and spends the morning with him looking through pictures of Daniel. Ashley returns from the hearing and is instantly edgy to see them together. He explains that Mel and Arthur (Billy Harrower) will have to have a DNA test once they return. Later, Ashley attempts to smooth things over with his wife, but puts his foot in it by mentioning Arthur again. Laurel blasts that she needs more time and exits hurt. Can the troubled couple pull their marriage back from the brink?

Elsewhere, Donna (Verity Rushworth) tells Marlon (Mark Charnock) about Viv (Deena Payne) and Bob’s (Tony Audenshaw) arrest and struggles to hide her guilt from him. Viv and Bob are bailed at the magistrate’s court and ordered to attend a preliminary trial hearing next week. Viv is still angry with Donna and goes to the pub to escape her family’s questions. Bob urges Viv to be honest with him and Viv is gutted that he could even think that she may be involved. Later, Viv refuses to face the village gossips so Bob tries to reassure her that they’ll face the criticism together. However, Viv coops herself up in the stockroom and Bob is later sent home from the Woolpack, neither of them coping well. Donna arrives and in the midst of Viv’s ranting, tells them to try and seek the advice of a private investigator. Will a private dick get Viv's problems licked?

Meanwhile Nicola (Nicola Wheeler) continues to badger Paddy (Dominic Brunt) over her job but he is preoccupied ahead of his court appearance. When she lies to Ross (Samuel Anderson) that Paddy no longer needs a lift, Paddy is furious with his cousin’s no-show and is forced to accept a lift from Nicola. She is then forced to bite her tongue when David (Matthew Wolfenden) ribs her about losing her job at the vets. With Chas (Lucy Pargeter) again absent, Nicola takes the opportunity to lend an extra hand to Paddy. Pointing out that Paddy will be spending a great deal of money paying for taxi rides to his appointments; Nicola suggests that she become his chauffeur for a fair price. Will this last ditch attempt to get her feet back under the reception desk work?

    Friday 16 May

Ashley (John Middleton) remains cold with Laurel (Charlotte Bellamy) following her revelation the previous day. After confiding in her dad about the kiss with Greg (Shaun Prendergast), Laurel is upset when he takes Ashley’s side. Meanwhile, Ashley goes looking for Greg but Edna (Shirley Stelfox) persuades him to discuss his problems in church. Edna talks about her own experiences with Peter, without self-referencing, and warns Ashley not to abandon Arthur (Billy Harrower). At Mulberry, Doug (Duncan Preston) is furious to hear Laurel exclaim that Arthur will never be her child and calls her selfish. Feeling like the world's against her, will Laurel's drastic decision land her with more trouble?

Meanwhile, Greg grows more and more worried when he speaks to Mel’s (Caroline Strong) mother who hasn’t seen or heard from her. Shadrach (Andy Devine) talks to Greg about how he felt relieved when he found out that Cain was Zak’s (Steve Halliwell) son as it made him realise why he didn’t feel that bond. Greg is worried when he hears how messed up Cain was, fearing something similar may occur with Arthur.

Elsewhere Pearl (Meg Johnson) is sick of being harassed about the cruise, but Lily (Anne Charleston) is undaunted. Pearl shows Rodney (Patrick Mower) her list of possible candidates and they discuss pros and cons.
