Larry Lamb has suggested that Gavin & Stacey will return for a Christmas special.

Lamb, who played Gavin's father Mick in the sitcom, explained that viewers will want to know what happens to the characters.

According to the Daily Mail, he said: "There will be a Christmas special. Clearly the audience loves it and I would be very surprised if it did not come back for a Christmas episode.

"Viewers will want to know what happens to them all. I would hate to see it just die."

Meanwhile, a BBC source reportedly said that it would like some more one-off editions of the show "as a treat".

Lamb's fellow cast members have previously ruled out further episodes of the comedy, which finished on New Year's Day.
