ITV is planning to launch a weekly promotional e-mail newsletter called the Weatherfield Gazette.
The mailout will include a roundup of the week at Coronation Street alongside adverts for other ITV shows.
Marketing agency Dubz.tv has developed the idea and is working on other direct marketing for the broadcaster.
Barney Hobbs, Dubz.tv managing director, said the email would be sent to users who have registered an interest in soaps.
I would certainly sign up to this.
