    Spoilers Week 18/02/08

    Monday 18 February 2008

Andy (Kelvin Fletcher) and Jo (Roxanne Pallett) separately attempt to summon up enthusiasm for their big day, but both are only too aware of the miserable circumstances surrounding their wedding. In the meantime, Lisa (Jane Cox), Laurel (Charlotte Bellamy), Val (Charlie Hardwick) and Louise (Emily Symons) decorate the Woolpack, intending to give Jo a hen night to remember.

However the night goes from bad to worse when, looking to get closer to her, Jake (James Baxter) spikes Jo's drink, then Jo hears Val and Louise laughing about her 'special day'. Flying into a rage, Jo storms out followed by Ross (Samuel Anderson). As he offers comfort, the two lock eyes and kiss. Will Jo cheat on Andy the night before her nuptials?

Elsewhere, David (Matthew Wolfenden) reassures Nicola (Nicola Wheeler) that he's still on side with her plans to bump off Donald (Michael Jayston), but is inwardly less than convinced. Nicola is eager to forge ahead and comes back from Hotten laden with Colombo DVDs for research. Is Nicola really serious about killing her golden goose?

Meanwhile, there are tears from Betty (Paula Tilbrook) when Sandy (Freddie Jones) finally breaks the news of his travel plans. How will Betty cope when India takes away her close companion?

    Tuesday 19 February

Jack (Clive Hornby), Victoria (Isabel Hodgins) and Daz (Luke Tittensor) surprise Jo (Roxanne Pallett) with a chauffeur driven limo to take her to the prison. Laurel (Charlotte Bellamy) decorates the bleak prison room by lighting candles and when Ashley marries Jo and Andy (Kelvin Fletcher), the two are consumed by brief happiness. However after only 20 minutes, Jo is forced to leave her husband and return home alone. But as an intruder enters Butlers Farm, will she have company on her wedding night after all?

Meanwhile, in need of extra money for her rent deposit at Tug Ghyll, Jasmine (Jenna-Louise Coleman) considers taking on a second job and approaches Matthew (Matt Healy) for a job at Home Farm. Matthew is less than enthusiastic but Rodney (Patrick Mower) talks him round. Installed at King and Sons, will the hardy hack have her ear to the ground or keep her journalistic nose out of their business?

Elsewhere, an exhausted Bob (Tony Audenshaw) is eager to take Mel (Caroline Strong) on at the shop, but a green eyed Viv (Deena Payne) aims to make the interview process as difficult as possible. As she fires mental arithmetic questions at the astonished applicant, will Mel hold her own?

    Wednesday 20 February

When Bob (Tony Audenshaw) informs Viv (Deena Payne) that Pearl (Meg Johnson) won't be in to help that day, she insists that he will have to work on his day off. Witnessing the scene, Mel (Caroline Strong) cheekily reminds Viv that she can start work at any time, but is ignored. Desperate measures needed, Bob storms upstairs and refuses to budge. Will Viv swallow her pride and give in to her stricken, striking husband?

Meanwhile, Jo (Roxanne Pallett) desperately tries to get permission to see Andy (Kelvin Fletcher) but is denied access without a visiting order. Meanwhile when Jake (James Baxter) accuses Jo of sleeping with Charlie (Michael Keogh), her vehement denials leave the young farmhand unconvinced. Continuing his reign of terror, Charlie begins moving boxes into one of the barns and threatens Jo physically and mentally to keep out of his business. Has the common crim got the nervous newlywed every which way?

Elsewhere, Sandy's (Freddie Jones) old mate Joe (John Woodvine) arrives in the village, getting off on the wrong foot by flirting with Betty (Paula Tilbrook). As things come to a head the ageing adverseries get into a scuffle. Is Sandy going to miss Betty more than he realises?

    Thursday 21 February

When Hilary (Paula Wilcox) and Doug (Duncan Preston) return to the village and family sit down for a late lunch, Daniel (Rachel Moonie) is asleep upstairs in his cot. When Laurel (Charlotte Bellamy) later heads upstairs, a terrible howl reverberates through the house and she thunders down the stairs with a wrapped up Daniel, screaming that he's not breathing. As Paramedics arrive and administer CPR, family members are frantic. After some time, Laurel calmly asks them to stop, upset that it's hurting rather than helping Daniel. When the doctor agrees and pronounces the infant as dead, Laurel scoops her dead baby into her arms while all around break down. As Ashley and Laurel's world falls apart, life will never be the same again.

A nervous Mel (Caroline Strong) arrives for her first day at work at work, and is pensive when Bob (Tony Audenshaw) reveals that it will just be her and Viv (Deena Payne). When Greg (Shaun Prendergast) pays a visit, vicious Viv wastes no time in making a barbed remark about their living conditions. Stunned by her audacity, Greg is left open-mouthed but Mel laughs it off - clearly not about to be thrown by Viv's ways. Has Viv met her match?

    Friday 22 February

Back home, Laurel (Charlotte Bellamy) sits silently in Daniel's room. Rodney (Patrick Mower), Diane (Elizabeth Estensen), Hilary (Paula Wilcox), and Ashley (John Middleton) debate over whether Gabby (Annelise Manojlovic) should go to Bernice's, but overhearing, Laurel insists that she's staying home with them. Bracing themselves, Ashley and Laurel gently tell Gabby that Daniel has gone to heaven. When Gabby says that she wants Bernice, an upset Laurel rushes upstairs, feeling incredibly alone and inept as a mother. Will Laurel let Ashley in to be the support she so desperately needs?

Elsewhere, when Perdy (Georgia Slowe) arranges flowers for Laurel, she becomes overcome with the enormity of what Katie's (Sammy Winward) doing for her. When she reassures the young surrogate that she and Gray (Christopher Villiers) will be good parents, Katie jokes that he'll have her to deal with if not - leaving Perdy suspicious as to Katie's depth of involvement. Is Katie letting her mask slip?

Meanwhile Pollard (Chris Chittell) admits to David (Matthew Wolfenden) that he hasn't put any money aside for his own wedding to Val (Charlie Hardwick). Whilst Val continues to organise Paul (Mathew Bose) and Jonny's (Richard Grieve) wedding, is Pollard planning his own funeral?

It was Mel and her husband who have bought jack's house. Jake is their son. I think they are living in a caravan at the moment on the property. They also had a baby at the same time as ash and laurel had daniel.

I forsee another 'baby swap' storyline where in fact 'Daniel' is Greg and Mels baby and switched at the hospital as both babies were born on the same day.
