    it has to be said, that this year has been shockingly bad for film

    and why is this? becuase it was the year of sequels and remakes, most of which rubbish!

    I've only heard of five of those films in the nominations.

    Atonement, No Room For Country Men and There Will Be Blood may be good (I don't know, haven't seen or heard of them) but why are they nominated in almost every category?

    becuase they need to fill up the nominations one way or the other, and in a year with very few quality films, the few that were worthy of nominations end up getting nominated in every category, this is often the case with these kind of awards, chances are they never get them all though
