    Monday 31 December 2007

When Nicola (Nicola Wheeler) gets home late from visiting Donald (Michael Jayston), David (Matthew Wolfenden) is furious and questions why she can’t just divorce him getting half his millions.

Nicola is forced to concede that things aren’t that straightforward and admits that he had his brain haemorrhage on their wedding night and so the marriage was never consummated. David is horrified to realise that she’s going to have to bed Donald in order to get the money. Will he be able to overcome his upset so they can get back on track with their nasty plan?

Jimmy (Nick Miles) is missing his dad and heads over to the cemetery and is horrified to discover a fresh grave has been dug . He goes home and imparts the news to Matthew (Matt Healy) who, guessing the grave is for Rosemary, storms over to the pub and confronts a smirking Gray (Christopher Villiers). At the stroke of midnight a fight breaks out. The scene descends into chaos and Matthew angrily vows not to let Rosemary be buried with Tom.

Also in the pub, a miserable Lexi (Sally Oliver) and Chas (Lucy Pargeter) berate the lack of decent men in the village and vow to remain single. But when Ross (Samuel Anderson) walks in and the two immediately vie for his attention will they break their resoloutions before the clock strikes midnight?

    Tuesday 1 January 2008

Matthew (Matt Healy) is frustrated to learn that his father's will confirms that it was his wish for Rosemary to be buried alongside him. Whilst Jimmy (Nick Miles) and Carl (Tom Lister) are resigned to this fact, Matthew is still vehemently angry. Later that day as the funeral procession reaches the graveyard, Gray (Christopher Villiers) is horrified to see Matthew filling in the grave with a shovel. Gray loses it and the two brawl in the mud. The police show up and Matthew is taken away but swears that it’s not over. Will Matthew get his revenge?

Meanwhile, at the hospital, Donald (Michael Jayston) continues to play games with Nicola (Nicola Wheeler) when she gives him details of private nursing agencies. Donald asks why he should want anyone else but her to be by his side. He says that she’s described what seems to be a perfect marriage so he would like her to be the one by his side day and night. Will Nicola succumb to Donald's demands in order to secure her inheritance.

Paddy is shocked to discover that Ross (Samuel Anderson) is dating both Chas (Lucy Pargeter) and Lexi (Sally Oliver). Paddy warns Ross on the sly that he won’t get away with it but will Ross listen to his cousin's advice?

    Wednesday 2 January 2008

Ross (Samuel Anderson) has lunch plans with Chas (Lucy Pargeter) but Lexi (Sally Oliver) turns up at Tall Trees with takeaway throwing him off guard. He makes an excuse that he has to go out and get wine, and heads off to the vets to tell Chas that he’s been called in to do an emergency shift and won’t make their date. Will Chas suspect the cheating cop is making excuses?

Meanwhile, when slates fall from the church roof, Ashley (John Middleton) pushes Turner (Richard Thorp) out of the way, but it is too late as one shatters leaving a painful splinter in his foot. Feeling terrible, Ashley offers to drive him to hospital. Later Ashley confesses to Laurel (Charlotte Bellamy) he feels guilty at not having taken Greg’s (Shaun Prendergast) advice and not admitting to Turner that he was aware of the loose tiles.

Elsewhere, Perdy (Georgia Slowe) turns up at Mill Cottage to tell Gray (Christopher Villiers) she’s had the divorce petition drawn up leaving Katie (Sammy Winward) to comfort an upset Gray. Later Perdy asks Katie to lunch but she declines and berates Perdy for her treatment of Gray and doubts her commitment to the baby she’s carrying for them. Perdy is left concerned that Katie could change her mind about the unborn child.

    Thursday 3 January 2008

Furious, Lexi (Sally Oliver) gatecrashes Chas's (Lucy Pargeter) date with Ross (Samuel Anderson). Chas apologises but when Ross says he didn’t make any promises to either of them, she cottons on that he’s been seeing Lexi too. Outraged that Lexi’s also lied, Chas throws a drink in her face. Chaos descends and the police arrive. Will the girls get off with a caution or do they face spending the night in a cell together?

Meanwhile, Turner (Richard Thorp) accuses Ashley (John Middleton) of feeling guilty and reveals that somebody told him that Ashley knew the tiles were loose. Ashley jumps to conclusions that Greg (Shaun Prendergast) has been spreading gossip and confronts him. When Laurel (Charlotte Bellamy) arrives and hurriedly tells Ashley that Viv’s (Deena Payne) the guilty gossip. Ashley is shame-faced. Will Greg forgive Ashley?

Elsewhere, having receipt of one of Donna’s (Verity Rushworth) police jackets, Eli (Jospeh Gilgun), Zak (Steve Halliwell) and Shadrach (Andy Devine) get ready to go out and about collecting on the spot fines from unsuspecting members of the public. They take to a main road and Zak covers a 60mph with a 50mph sign and Shadrach sits in the van with an old camera which has a flash. Seeing their first victim Shadrach activates the flash and Zak alerts Eli that the driver is about to approach his position. Will the Dingles pull off a lucrative scam or wind up in trouble with the police once more?

    Friday 4 January 2008

Jimmy (Nick Miles) is shocked when a business associate reveals that he bumped into Kelly working at a restaurant in Liverpool last week. Later that day, masking his feelings for Kelly, Jimmy tells Carrie (Linda Lusadi) he feels very lucky with his lot and that she and Scarlett (Kelsey-Beth Crossley) mean a lot to him. As they kiss, Carrie tells him that she loves him but there’s an awkward moment and then Carrie’s horrified when he replies ‘cheers'. Is their relationship doomed before it has properly begun?

Explaining that their behaviour was over the top, Lexi (Sally Oliver) and Chas (Lucy Pargeter) suggest to a stunned Ross (Samuel Anderson) that they put it behind them and all be friends. After the two girls have sat drinking wine for a while, both flirting outrageously with Ross, they head upstairs, inviting him to follow. Ross can't believe his luck but are the girls genuine or do they have a revengeful plan for the cheating cop?

Over at Wishing Well cottage the police arrive to search the premises. The police are frustrated when all of the Dingles insist they have an alibi for their whereabouts the day before. The police leave but not before promising that they are onto them.

Whatever for? And why frame Matthew for a murder he did not commit? I like her now even less than I did before. Surely the police are going to realise that Matthew is innocent.
