    Cool Emmerdale Spoilers 22nd - 27th July 2007

    Barraclough drowns her sorrows after she's over looked for a big investigation. Carl is intrigued to find Barraclough alone in a bar and invites himself to join her. With Barraclough acting inebriated, Carl opens up about his relationship with Tom and finds that Barraclough had a difficult relationship with her own father. There is a charged moment between them which Carl breaks off and rushes out of the bar. Will Barraclough be able to exploit the meeting to her advantage?

    Meanwhile, Carrie is uncomfortable with Lexi's presence and tells her not to divulge her criminal past to anyone. In private, Carrie tries to talk to Lexi about her time in prison but the sisters are soon arguing. Lexi accuses Carrie of being self-absorbed and whoring herself in pursuit of a fortune. Carrie tries to slap Lexi but the younger sister overpowers her and sends her to the floor. Is Carrie out of her depth with Lexi?

    Elsewhere, Lisa is unhappy with Andy for allowing Emily access to Sarah and begs him to grant the Dingles similar privileges. After consultation with Jack, Andy agrees to Lisa's request and takes the opportunity for a night out with Jo, while the Dingles babysit Sarah. Will Sarah finally have a united family?


    23rd

    Carl enrages his brothers after telling them he met Barraclough. Despite his brothers' protests, Carl arranges another meeting and teases her with more information about Tom. He catches her off guard by revealing he knew she wasn't drunk the day before and Barraclough retreats from the bar. However, Barraclough pulls Carl over later on and gives him her number. He pulls her close and they almost kiss. Is there more to their relationship than game playing?

    Elsewhere, Chas gives Paddy the good news that he is able to make Hari an offer on the vets. Needing an advance on his payment from the Kings, Paddy is forced to ask Matthew. He offers to lend Paddy the money he needs if they come to an arrangement. Paddy rejects him and Matthew is disgruntled after Paddy decides to take a bank loan instead. Can Paddy negotiate with the Kings and be rid of Hari?

    Also, Carrie decides to find Lexi a job, but confesses to Jimmy that she lacks trust in her sister. Carrie speaks to David and secures Lexi a trial at the factory, despite her obvious disdain for work of any kind. Will Lexi adapt to a working life in the village?


    24th

    Matthew pays Hari a visit and blackmails him into raising his asking price for the vets. When Paddy turns up at the prison to finalise the deal he's astounded at Hari's u-turn. Returning to the village, Paddy realises Matthew has set him up and Matthew demands that Paddy accepts his offer of partnership. Paddy refuses once more and Matthew warns him that he'll be finished without the Kings' support.

    Also, Carrie marches Lexi into work but she's still unenamoured by the prospect of a day's labour. With a glint in her eye, Lexi convinces the staff to take a break so she can practice alone. However, with nobody to watch her Lexi deliberately sabotages her work and is fired by Pollard. Feeling responsible, David immediately offers her a job in his cleaning business. Will Carrie encourage Lexi to settle down?

    Meanwhile, while Carl tries to calm Jimmy over Barraclough, she waits anxiously for his call. When he doesn't, Barraclough panics and phones him herself. He doesn't answer so she rushes over to the Woolpack looking for him. Carl invites her to dinner and is delighted that he's penetrated her hard exterior. Does Carl have Barraclough in the palm of his hand?


    25th

    Carl heads out for his date with Barraclough but she's guarded with him at first. She asks why he's been playing games and tries to discover who Tom's killer is. Avoiding the issue, Carl invites her to his hotel room where they sleep together. Barraclough tells him that things have to stop but her argument fades when he kisses her again. Are Carl's intentions towards Barraclough genuine?

    Elsewhere, Paddy asks Gray to look at Matthew's contract but Rosemary warns him against partnership with the Kings. Instead she presents Paddy with her own offer and asks him to make a decision by the day's end. Paddy decides to accept, much to Matthew's displeasure and he warns Rosemary to expect a backlash. With arguments raging around him, Chas hands in her resignation, leaving Paddy standing between Rosemary and the Kings.

    Also, Kelly fears she's put on weight, a thought that the stylist confirms when she arrives for her photo shoot. Desperate to impress, Kelly tells Scarlett she's going on a diet. Meanwhile, Jimmy feels left out by her new environment after he's mistaken for her father. Will Kelly's career change leave no place in her life for Jimmy?

    26th

    Kelly avoids breakfast as her diet kicks in but when working in the cafe later she faints. Kelly is taken to hospital and the doctor pours scorn on her diet plan. After running some tests, the doctor comes back with news that Kelly is pregnant. She is stunned and quickly covers up the truth when Jimmy arrives. He affirms his desire to support her career but Kelly is torn. Is she willing to sacrifice her career to start a family?

    Meanwhile, Jamie secures an interview for the postman's job and hands in his resignation to Louise. She warns him not to be hasty and after some research, Jamie is worried to find out that fifty people have applied. When Louise finds him revising ahead of the interview they agree to tear up his letter of resignation just in case. Will Jamie be successful?

    Elsewhere, Matthew's obsession with the vets grows and he visits Hari once more, only to be told that he's sold up already. Matthew is irate and warns Hari never to return to the village. After fighting off arguments from Carrie and Jimmy, Matthew goes to see Paddy and informs him that Rosemary will ruin him. Paddy ignores him, but will he live to regret it?


    27th

    Jimmy cooks Kelly an English breakfast but she can't keep it down and Scarlett finds her being sick. Kelly speaks to her agent but he tells her it's over if she postpones the modelling work. When Scarlett starts to investigate Kelly's sickness, Kelly confesses to her pregnancy. They talk and Kelly admits to considering an abortion. Will she go through with it without telling Jimmy?

    Elsewhere, despite Edna's words of caution, Pearl grows excited about her "date" with Pollard. But when she checks on the arrangements with him, he announces he's invited a council member to the theatre instead. Pearl accuses him of leading her on but he retorts, saying he was never attracted to her. Where does this leave Pearl and her heroic Pollard?

    Also, Jasmine refuses another driving lesson with David after he flirts with Lexi. She questions why he bought her a car and compares her situation to Pollard returning Pearl's furniture. She tells David she struggles to trust men after Cain and he eventually confesses that he and Pollard own Pearl's house. Jasmine is horrified but can she forgive his deplorable actions?
