Cheryl Cole's brother has been told that he faces a prison sentence after attacking a man with pepper spray.
Andrew Tweedy, 28, pleaded guilty to assault and possession of a prohibited weapon at Newcastle Crown Court.
The judge informed the Girls Aloud star's older brother that he would be jailed for the attack, which took place in Gosforth on August 13.
Tweedy, from Heaton, was previously jailed for robbery in 2005.

Eddie Cibrian is fighting back against a report that claims he's having an affair with co-star LeAnn Rimes.
"It is a fabricated story that is using random snapshots as connective tissue to create a scandalous relationship," Cibrian says in a statement first obtained by Access Hollywood.
A Rimes friend tells PEOPLE the country star, 26, and Cibrian, 35 – who is married to model Brandi Glanville and has two sons, Mason, 5, and Jake, almost 2 – are not in a relationship. "There are some feelings there but it's too early to tell if it's going to develop and if she's done with her marriage," says the pal.
While it's unclear how the allegations will affect Rimes's seven-year marriage to songwriter Dean Sheremet, the couple have definitely hit a rough patch, Rimes's friend confirms.
"[LeAnn and Dean] are figuring it out," says the friend. "They have a lot of mutual respect for one another."
"The situation that she's grappling with right now is not the cause for her marriage troubles," the friend continues. "There have been issues brewing for months prior to meeting Eddie on set."

Bruce Willis is reportedly preparing to tie the knot with his model girlfriend Emma Heming.
According to People, the Die Hard star and Heming are planning an intimate wedding on the Caribbean islands of Turks & Caicos later this week.
An insider claimed that Willis, who owns a home on the islands, has reserved a block of luxury hotel rooms and private villas near his property.
Willis, 54, has been dating the former Victoria's Secret model since last year. He was previously married to actress Demi Moore from 1987 until 2000 and briefly engaged to Baywatch star Brooke Burns in 2004.
Last October, Willis and 32-year-old Heming were reportedly spotted looking at engagement rings at the Cartier jewellery store in Los Angeles.
A representative for the actor has yet to comment.

Cheryl and Ashley Cole's plans to renovate their £3.5 million home are under threat after the local council earmarked land to be used as a rubbish dump.
An area near to the couple's luxury 19th century mansion is expected to be quarried for stone before being turned into a landfill site, according to the Daily Star.
Plans to build a football pitch, swimming pool and gym at the property are now in doubt and the pair have been urged to join local campaigners in pressuring the council to back down.
"If someone like Cheryl Cole could back the campaign we would be very grateful," a Green Belt protester told the newspaper.
The couple moved to the 12-acre surrey estate last year and plan a £1 million renovation of the mansion.

Louise Redknapp has claimed that she is not good looking enough for husband Jamie.
The singer, who was previously voted sexiest woman of the decade by FHM magazine, admitted that she is not always confident about her appearance.
"Jamie's a good-looking guy. I have days when I think, 'There are beautiful, skinny girls out there. He could have anyone'," she told The Mirror.
Redknapp added that she also enjoys confident days when she thinks she is a "good woman".
The star is currently working on new ITV show The Truth About Skinny Mums, examining the pressure some new mothers face to lose weight.

Actor Stacy Keach is recuperating in Los Angeles after suffering a stroke, his publicist has confirmed.
He said the 67-year-old had sustained "a very mild stroke with no impairment of his motor or speech abilities."
The actor, he continued, "remains in a Los Angeles hospital for observation and routine precautionary procedures."
Keach had been appearing as President Richard Nixon in a touring production of Frost/Nixon, running at the Ahmanson Theatre until the end of the month.
Its producers, said his spokesman, "look forward to his speedy recovery and to his return to the show as soon as he is able".
Keach, best known for his role as TV detective Mike Hammer, was admitted to an undisclosed hospital on Tuesday.
Born in Savannah, Georgia in 1941, he was recently seen in Oliver Stone's W and the independent film Honeydripper.
Understudy Bob Ari has taken Keach's role in Frost/Nixon, which continues at the Ahmanson until 29 March.
Keach's role was originally played by Frank Langella in Peter Morgan's award-winning play and, subsequently, the Oscar-nominated film.
According to the Hollywood Reporter's critic, the late Richard Nixon "might be pleasantly surprised to see how well Stacy Keach has treated him".

Rod Stewart's 28-year-old son has complained in court that his millionaire rock star father is "very cheap".
Sean was in the TV court of Judge Jeanine Pirro, where he was being sued by personal trainer Francois Xavier Decile.
He was accused of owing a total of $5,000 (£3,500) for unpaid sessions, lost wages and an unpaid loan.
Decile told the court: "He used to say, 'Don't worry, my dad will pay you'."
Sean said: "The money [Rod] gave, the check he sent to Xavier, I had to pay back. My dad's very cheap."
Judge Pirro said: "Your dad has a lot of money, why is he cheap?"
Sean responded: "I don't know."
The judge ruled that Sean had to pay Decile $3,500 and said that the trainer was partly responsible for continuing to work despite the debt.

Liam Gallagher has expressed his dislike for "skinny" shoes and described the "classic" clothes that will be part of his new fashion label.
In a video for the newly-launched Pretty Green, the Oasis singer assured fans that his range would not be cheap or second-rate.
Gallagher said: "It's just a nice classic range I think. Just classic. Classic parka, classic trench coat, classic shoes - suede desert boots. Nice jumper, nothing no mad gear going on, just really plain. Blacks, browns, nothing wild, not like John Paul Gaultier or anything, just cool.
"I'm not into the skinny look. These skinny things. That's what I'm here for, to *******ing get rid of that *******.
"You know them shoes that just come at you like a *******ing snooker cue? It's like, leave it out man! You got a license for them *******s or what?"
He added that he is "classier" than in his younger days and no longer wears hoods, saying that he now has "nothing to hide; I'm proud of the head".

US publication Star Magazine has heaped further misery on the stunning R&B star by claiming she fears her estranged boyfriend CHRIS BROWN could release a steamy home video the couple allegedly made together.
A source who approached the magazine said: “They’ve had tons of crazy nights in bed, and Chris has recorded many of them...They both have very kinky sides.”
It's also claimed that Rihanna enjoys role-playing and dressing up as a dominatrix and that she is allegedly worried Chris could put the footage out there for the world to see.
The source went on to say: "Rihanna has no issues with her sexuality. But she'd be mortified if her friends and family found this out!
"This whole beating incident is terribly humiliating for her. She's already traumatized and will do anything to make it all go away as quickly as possible.
“The last thing in the world Rihanna wants is to see herself in the sex videos all over the Internet! She’s an intensely private person.”
Whether or not the rumours are true, this latest reports will be another blow for the singer who is said to be 'taking a break' from her relationship with Brown.
Let's hope the rumours are completely false and she gets her life back on track as soon as she can.
