From DS

Sergeant Nikki Wright (Gillian Taylforth) responds to a call to say that Josh Carey (Matthew Wait) is threatening to jump from a factory building. She explains to PC Lewis Hardy (Aml Ameen) how Josh previously asked for her help after he discovered he’d developed unnatural feelings for children.

Josh tells Nikki he is devastated that the only person who wants to know him is a man he met in an internet chat room called Paul Warren (Richard Standing), who assures him that his feelings are natural. Josh is finally convinced not to jump when Nikki tells him that they can use his help to arrest Warren.

DC Terry Perkins (Bruce Byron) later questions Josh who confesses that Warren invited him to join his circle of ‘like minded friends’ and gave him his phone number. Terry suggests to DI Neil Manson (Andrew Lancel) that seeing as Josh has never met Warren face to face, he should go undercover to meet Warren in the hope of exposing a child pornography ring.

Elsewhere at Sun Hill, PC Reg Hollis (Jeff Stewart) and Phil Hunter (Scott Maslen) are assigned to a case where a £15,000 necklace has disappeared from a body in a sealed coffin. At the funeral home, Reg and Phil talk to Richard Etheridge (John Albasiny), the brother of the deceased, who blames the funeral home owners, Derek (Peter Bourke) and Bev Morris (Kate Anthony).

Later, Crime Scene Examiner Lorna Hart (Siobhan Redmond) informs DC Jo Masters (Sally Rogers) and DS Stuart Turner (Doug Rao) that Richard’s fingerprints were found all over the window that was broken into and on the inside of the coffin. Armed with this knowledge, Richard is taken in for questioning. He admits that he broke in with the intention to steal the necklace, but once he had managed to open the coffin, discovered that it was already missing.
