Bill Spoilers 26th April
CID investigate a gang of local youths who are terrifying the public by marching onto public transport and into shops and stealing from them. PCs Dan Casper (Chris Jarvis) and Will Fletcher (Gary Lucy) arrest one of the boys, Otis Hendricks (Jumayne Hunter), and take him to the station where DCs Terry Perkins (Bruce Byron) and Mickey Webb (Chris Simmons) interview him with his mum, Martha (Carol Moses) present. Otis gives the officers attitude throughout the interview, and Martha blatantly lies in order to cover for her son which frustrates Mickey. They realise that until the forensic report comes back, they have to let Otis go as they haven’t enough evidence to keep him. Later, when Martha is found badly beaten, Mickey and Terry eventually get some information out of Otis’ younger brother, Deneal (Lewis Rhomes). During an undercover operation to arrest Otis and his malicious gang, PC Emma Hinckley (Melanie Gutteridge) is stabbed…
Meanwhile, Josh Carey (Matthew Wait), the robbery witness from last week has come to see Nikki and confesses that he is worried about the kind of feelings he is getting for young girls. Stunned by his revelation, Nikki advises Josh to stay away from young children and gives him a counselling contact he can call. But, Nikki is soon disgusted when she hears that he hangs around the school her daughter attends and sends Will and Dan to keep an eye on him. At the School, Will and Dan clock Josh, standing at the far side of the playground, and when he starts to make a run for it, they bring Josh to the station for questioning. Nikki goes to the front office see Josh’s girlfriend – Angela Schofield (Maisie Bryceland), who is keen to know what her boyfriend has been arrested for. Angela says she doesn’t want Josh to be a part of her life anymore and Nikki warns Josh that he must take notice of advice if he wants to stay out of trouble.
Elsewhere, Met Press Officer, Mia Perry (Jo-Anne Knowles) is awkward with Superintendent John Heaton (Daniel Flynn) when he mentions the night before and she tells him it shouldn’t have happened. Mia’s boyfriend, Mickey soon guesses that she was unfaithful and it breaks his heart when she doesn’t deny it.
Also, after meeting an old acquaintance of CPS lawyer, Matt Hinckley (Mark Dexter), Will uncovers a nasty truth about Matt’s past which could turn his wife, Emma’s, life upside down…
