    Sean nursing a hangover plays down the previous nights antics to Michelle as the rest of the group quiz him about his drunken liaison. Michelle and Jamie are especially curious about Sean's new boyfriend, further quizzing him in the Rovers, leaving Sonny amused with the whole situation. He is not the only one finding it funny as Steve revels in his opportunity to crack gay jokes to Sonny in front an oblivious Michelle. Later a confused and worried Sean confides in a shocked Jamie, he doesn’t want to hurt anybody but can't control his lust for Sonny. Will he finally tell Michelle?

    Becky looks to solve Carla's staffing problem at Underworld by offering to come back to work for less pay. Carla, aware of her production problems, agrees and sees an opportunity to expand her work force. Becky, desperate to leave the dreary surroundings of her lodgings, agrees to recruit new workers from the hostel for the night shift in return for a few favours from Carla.

    Tyrone, Molly and Fiz eagerly spend the money from the silver coin Kirk found in a virtual spending spree. Dreaming of a rags to riches story, they argue over who will get the biggest cut of their new found fortune and the exotic locations they will all be visiting when Kirk returns with the fortune in hand. Is Kirk's news what they have all been expecting?

    Elsewhere, Rita unknowingly shuns Norris’s surprise birthday party for her in favour of another night on the tiles with Doreen.

    The metal detector had, earlier in the week, brought on a gold rush with Kirk and co. Now in the inquisitive hands of Chesney it indicates a strong signal in the Peacocks' back garden. Eileen who is babysitting there is far from happy when she finds Chesney digging away at the lawn. Kirk and Tyrone join Chesney in the garden as the three of them continue to dig in front of a horrified Eileen. She quickly realises the large metal object is an old bomb.

    A panic stricken Eileen calls the authorities and the whole street rushes to see what all the fuss is about. Suddenly all havoc breaks loose, as an onslaught of soldiers and a bomb disposal unit arrive at the scene. The whole street is evacuated by the police and sent to the community centre. Liz is panic stricken because Vernon is one of the few notable absentees in the evacuation. The discovery of the bomb looks set to have a domino effect on many of the street's residents!

    Sean is talking to Jamie and is still stressed about the situation with Sonny. Jamie, presuming Sean is about to end things with Sonny, gives him the keys to no.7 to invite Sonny over for some private time. After taking Sonny's number off Michelle in the street, Sean invites him over and lets him into the house through the back door. By the time they reach the front room Sonny is already working his magic on Sean; Sonny has much more in mind than finishing the affair. He leads an apprehensive Sean upstairs into Jamie's bedroom. Later on, after seeing the presence of soldiers in the street, Sonny suggests the two should continue their afternoon of fun and frolics, as it looks like they could be there for a while.

    David, intent on Tracy fulfilling her side of the bargain, arrives at her house. He has carried out his part of the deal by agreeing to testify, and now it's time for Tracy to carry out hers. David is deadly serious and knowing this Tracy agrees to sleep with him, but only after the trial. David agrees to the deal but makes it perfectly clear to Tracy that he needs much more than just a kiss. The sudden arrival at the door of a soldier saves the day for Tracy, but has anyone spotted the liaison?

    Meanwhile, Jason, feeling flush after being paid for Jodi's job, asks if Holly needs anything. Eileen is heartened by Jason's offer.

    Jason is slowly coming round to the responsibility of being Holly's dad and is more relaxed with the idea. Eileen’s careful not to pressure him, choosing not to tell him about the imminent visit from the social worker. She is genuinely touched by the way Jason is beginning to act around Holly and his new found enthusiasm for work. Jason arrives home from the pub as the social worker is leaving; he is disappointed Eileen didn’t tell him about the visit. Jason comes across as a doting parent to the social worker. He is aware of his parental responsibilities more than ever and offers to baby-sit Holly while Eileen gets out of the house. The two share a moment as the content Holly looks up at Jason giving a bright smile that even Jason finds hard not to reciprocate.

    Over at the Peacocks', Claire’s feeling uplifted when she meets Casey, a girl she has been counselling through the voluntary phone service she works for. After a distressed call from Casey in the morning Claire agrees to meet her, despite it being against the rules. Ashley is unsure that Claire has made the right decision, but trusts Claire's judgement this time. Casey has been struggling since the death of her baby but a sympathetic Claire agrees to make her own rules just this once. Claire does what she can to help Casey and it’s clear the voluntary work is benefiting her too, but is she telling Ashley the truth about her and Casey's meetings?

    Sonny invites Michelle to a special lunch, he tells her he has something to talk about. Michelle is afraid that Sonny wants to dump her but Sonny tells Michelle it's actually the complete opposite! Sean still confused about where he stands with Sonny and feels uneasy about the lunch date. Steve on the other hand is confidently revelling in thoughts that Sonny is actually about to dump Michelle. Sean is uplifted by Steve's comments but Michelle laughs this off as jealousy.

    Over at the factory the girls blank Kelly, feeling her cheap work for Carla weakens their positions.

    Michelle is on cloud nine after Sonny's surprise proposal and returns to the Rovers to tell everybody her news. Sonny seems distracted however and declines to join her celebrations in the pub with everybody else. The party commences when an unsuspecting Steve arrives, Michelle can't resist sarcastically telling Steve her big news. A hurt Steve can’t help but blurt out what he knows about Sonny and Sean's affair. To everybody in the Rovers this is just a far fetched way of Steve getting back at Michelle. No-one believes he actually has her best interests at heart. Michelle looks at him in pity as a dejected Steve is led out of the Rovers by Lloyd. Will Michelle ever discover the truth?

    Liam, under fire from the Underworld girls for their strenuous work load, consults Paul about finding a replacement for Janice. Carla, aware she needs to get into Liam's good books, offers to give him one of her workers from the night-shift. A reluctant Liam agrees. The factory girls aren’t happy when the Connors employ Vicki from the night shift, but supply has to meet demand. Kelly is still being cold shouldered by the other workers and tells Carla she can’t continue working nights. Despite Carla's best efforts, Kelly can't take the agro from the day-shift girls any longer, there is a firm divide in the Underworld workplace.

    Unsuspecting cabbie Jamie gets a shock when his pick-up at the station turns out to be none other than Leanne! The journey back to the street is awkward but the atmosphere thaws as the two agree to a drink back at Jamie's. The two reflect on their rollercoaster history and past mistakes, neither can any longer point the finger of blame at the other. With Janice still away with Roger and, Les not around, Jamie offers Leanne a room for the night at his place. But is it all too much for Leanne to accept?

    Elsewhere, Ashley worries about the level of Claire’s involvement with Casey.
