holby.tv can announce that actor Peter O'Brien will be joining the cast of CASUALTY this Spring, playing the role of 'Stitch'

Publicity revealed 'Stitch is CASUALTY's new Consultant - a sexy maverick bad boy who is the antithesis of good old reliable Harry. He'll make huge waves in the department breaking hearts and rules alike and is set to lead Guppy down a dark and dangerous path.'

We first meet Stitch not in a hospital but in a casino. When chance leads to an accident this high rolling risk taker reveals his medical skill and impresses Nathan who is there with his bosses from the Trust. Desperate for a new consultant, Nathan hires Stitch as soon as he can. But has he moved too fast? For Stitch has secrets and in time Nathan may come to regret his choice. Love him or hate him Stitch is a force to be reckoned with and he's going shake Holby City to it's very foundations!'

Australian-born Peter whose previous television roles include Neighbours, Queer as Folk, The Bill, The Flying Doctors, The Knock and Blue Heelers told holby.tv 'I have heard nothing but good things about CASUALTY and it having such a loyal following. The quality and challenging aspects of the part made it very appealing for me. You don't often get the opportunity to play a character who is so unrestrained. I'm really looking forward to my time on the show and seeing how my character ruffles a few duvets on the wards!'

Peter's first episode airs on 24th March.

Not sure I like his looks, he looks sorta swarmy.. and evil,, oh well, it did say his character had SECRETS.....Just hope he brings some LIFE into the program
