EastEnders has cast Hollyoaks star Fabrizio Santino as part of a new Zack Hudson storyline on the soap.
The Walford newcomer played the role of Ziggy Roscoe in Hollyoaks between 2013 and 2015, and joins the BBC soap as Brett, an old acquaintance of Zack's.
In new scenes set to air in the New Year on the week starting Monday, January 9, Zack is encouraged by Whitney Dean to take the cruise ship job. She says yes as she thinks it's what he wants.
However, Chelsea Fox confronts Zack and tells him that Whitney doesn't really want him to leave.
The pressure from Chelsea leaves him fuming, as Zack only wants to take the job to support the baby. He cools down and decides to turn the opportunity down. While Whitney is thrilled, Zack's happiness doesn't last long once he sees Brett.
Zack decides that he wants to get the Head Chef job and a pay rise from Ravi Gulati, and Whitney acts as a cheerleader for his ambitions ? though his plans go awry when Zack sees Brett again and gets rattled by his presence.
Sharon interviews Brett for the PT job at Crunch Time, though Zack warns her about him, and Zack tries to scare Brett into leaving Walford later on. However, Zack's acquaintance drops a huge bombshell that turns his world upside down.
While Zack is in denial, Sharon is left concerned about Brett, though Zack says that he has changed his ways.
Fabrizio Santino previously played Ziggy Roscoe in Hollyoaks. His on screen mum, Sandy, was played by Gillian Taylfoth, who is now back in EastEnders as Kathy Beale.
Meanwhile, Whitney is glad that Ravi has decided to give Zack a second chance, though she is worried about his lack of enthusiasm for the ultrasound.
Zack is broken, and goes for a drink at the club, before having a drunken row with Whitney. His drinking worsens and he smashes a glass in a rage, and then breaks down.
