Julia set to join Coronation Street

Julia Marsen is to join the cast of Coronation Street as a legal eagle.

No stranger to soapland, the actress played Tanya Kane in seven episodes of The Bill between 2002 and 2003.

Holby City fans may remember her as two separate characters in that series.

Julia also appeared with EastEnders' Ross Kemp in a 2006 episode of Ultimate Force.

The raven-haired actress was last seen in Casualty on January 6 as Nancy Hawley.

The January 12 episode of Corrie may go down in soap history as one of the most violent of 2007.

After attacking Charlie with a statuette, Tracy will need the best defence lawyer available.

That doesn't seem to be the man who initially represents her in court wearing a dirty suit.

Jayne (Marsen) is hired for the job, despite the fact Ken is worried about the Barlows losing everything paying her fees.

His hesitation leaves Blanche and Deirdre seeing red, but the ex-teacher finally agrees to their demands.

    Also...

CORRIE’S trial of the century is now a family affair.

Bill Roache’s screen daughter Tracy Barlow (Kate Ford) will be in the dock as his real-life wife plays the judge.

Sara Roache, 55, takes her first Coronation Street speaking part 46 YEARS after hubby Bill, 72, first played Ken Barlow.

Tracy is accused of killing builder Charlie Stubbs (Bill Ward).

A source said: “It is a connection nobody expected when they penned the trial script.”
