There won't be many people shedding tears as Weatherfield villain Charlie Stubbs finally gets his comeuppance at the hands of vengeful Tracy Barlow.
And no one will be as glad to see the back of cruel Charlie as Tracy's worried parents Ken and Deirdre.
But, with Tracy having struck the fatal blow, there's the small matter of a murder trial to go through…
Even the best legal brains in the country would have to work hard to get Tracy out of this mess, despite her attempts to paint a compelling picture of domestic abuse.
And for her put upon parents that's going to mean shelling out a small fortune to ensure their daughter has the best shot at freedom possible.
You'd have thought evil Tracy might have had something of a conscience at the notion of her mum and dad almost bankrupting themselves to save her from life in prison.
But the selfish psycho is quite happy to see Ken and Deirdre empty their bank account. Will their sacrifice be in vain?
It might be Tracy who's trouble in the Barlow household, but back at chez Battersby, the elders are not the betters.
Les and Cilla have made an almighty mess of their marriage – thanks to his infidelity and her lies – and the person who's really suffering is vulnerable youngster Chesney.
Broken-hearted Chesney has been in turmoil since his mum revealed she wasn't dying of cancer and ran off for a holiday in Florida, leaving him with Les.
And, blaming Les for driving his mother to such extreme lengths, Chesney is no longer happy living under the same roof as his adoptive dad.
So when Cilla returns from her America expedition to discover that Chesney is no longer residing at number 5, she's horrified.
On realising that their selfish behaviour has provoked poor Ches to do a bunk, the terrified Battersby-Brown's mount a search for their missing son.
But with Chesney's dreams of a family life shattered, does he want to be found?
Chesney might be grappling with family issues, but for lusty teenager David Platt, the focus is women.
Well, one woman in particular – gorgeous hairdresser Maria Sutherland. You'd have thought that having been harshly knocked back by his dream woman a few months ago would have made David reconsider his quest to win her heart.
But as the confused crimper mourns for her former flame Charlie Stubbs, David will seize the opportunity to get as close to Maria as possible without being arrested!
Given that he's been rubbish at hiding his king-sized crush on her, it's a wonder Maria doesn't smell a rat when David agrees to accompany her to Charlie's funeral.
But as the lusty lad moves in for a post-cremation kiss, will vulnerable Maria give him what he wants?
