At the Buddhist Retreat Katya mistakenly believes that Max is as attracted to her as she is to him. Further misinterpreting all that Max does and says, Katya's frightened of being drawn into an affair. Max, oblivious to Katya's anxiety, is confused by her erratic behaviour and challenges her. When she openly declares that they should stop pretending and face the fact that they are falling for each other Max is left truly stunned.

Lyn's delighted that Paul's seeking solace in Carmella, until she discovers to her disgust that his interest in the nun is far from pure. To get back into Lyn's good books, Paul donates money to Carmella's charity - but on the secret condition that Carmella spends a night with him! Unwitting Lyn rewards Paul, ignorant of his vile deal.

Janae receives an unexpected letter from her Nan, Loris, with a cheque for $1000 that she recklessly spends on an exotic photo shoot. A follow up phone call reveals that Loris is keen to give Janae yet more cash if she agrees to clandestine meetings - but the condition is that Janelle's not to know her hated mother-in-law is in town.

Following her declaration of love for Max, Katya is mortified to learn that he doesn't feel the same way. Unfortunately, Izzy senses that something is awry and pretends to be Katya's friend in order to save Max from the temptations of infidelity. However, Izzy's plan backfires when Katya gets upset and Susan warns Izzy off. But Izzy persists and tries to get the information out of Max, only to incur his wrath instead. Katya opens up to Susan who reassures her that everyone makes mistakes with relationships, but Katya is unsure she can ever be friends with Max again.

Susan finds an earring in Karl's bed linen and recognises it as Izzy's. She confronts Izzy but before they can talk, Izzy is knocked unconscious in a nasty accident and Susan ends up rushing her to hospital. Backed into a corner, Izzy has no choice but to tell Susan the truth about that night with Karl.

Toadie and Ned continue their mission to rid the world of ‘adulterous Izzys’ by seducing soon-to-be-divorced ‘Carrie Wilkes' for the camera. But they soon realise they've met their match.

Steph continues as an aspiring prankster but when her joke on Izzy ends in disaster, Steph has to face the hard facts - she may never accomplish Toadie's joker genius.

'Prank You For Being A Friend'

Just like the X-Files, the truth is out there; Susan and Karl both discover that delirious Karl unwittingly slept with Izzy. Karl fears his resumed relationship with Susan is finished for good but, after a night of soul-searching, Susan realises Karl is a changed man, a man she can trust.

After a ghastly faux pas leads to Ned and Toadie finding out about Elle’s apparent illness, the boys throw a party ostensibly celebrating Ned’s first year on the street, but really to cheer up Elle. With her sham proving ever harder to maintain, Elle faces karmic payback when Cam and Sky unwittingly force her to take her medication.

With Dylan out of town on a ‘food seminar’, Stingray supports Sky (and gets more film footage) as she finds out the test results. Much to Sky’s happiness, the tests are clear, but Sky’s conscience continues to torture her as she battles with her guilt over the baby’s true paternity.

Steph’s good mood after making peace with Max is ruined when she stumbles upon Lyn and Paul kissing. Steph confronts Paul at Elle’s party, warning him to respect her mother or there’ll be trouble. Steph later apologises to Izzy for not believing her claims. Izzy returns the gesture by advising Steph to keep an eye on Katya; she’s out to steal Steph’s husband!

'You Can Leave Your Tatt On'

Having swallowed a chemo tablet to convince Cameron she’s genuinely ill, Elle is rushed to hospital where she suffers having her stomach pumped. Paul schools her on pretending to fake taking her medication in future. When Cameron reveals his fear that Paul is sheltering him from the reality of facing Elle’s illness, Paul feels guilty at the deception and promises to keep his son fully informed in future.

Paul is intent on claiming his night with Carmella, his reward for the charitable donation. Carmella is certain there is a good man inside Paul dying to break free and all that’s needed to make it happen is encouragement. She gives Paul a number of opportunities to back down from his vile path, but he refuses – only to be disappointed when Carmella finally shows up with two friends. Paul will be spending a night with Carmella – but he’ll have to put up with Sister Frances and Sister Agnes as well.

Bree is shocked to find Anne has written Zeke a letter under Bree’s name, declaring her love for him. When she confronts her, Anne explains she was simply trying to help the relationship along and expressed in the letter only what she knew Bree already felt for Zeke. As a result, Bree believes Anne is looking out for her, as a good friend should.

Rachel spots a girl at a party kissing Stingray and maturely blames herself for splitting up with him in the first place.

Lou chases Janelle in the face of Bree trying to put an end to what is clearly a dead end relationship. When Janelle finally tells Lou they can only ever be friends she finds a mysterious tattoo on his back that he abjectly claims he never had done.

'Lou's Labours Lost'

Anne ‘accidentally’ lets slip to Zeke that she in fact wrote Bree's love letter. Anne paints Bree as cold, and herself as lonely, and in need of affection - which good-hearted Zeke readily supplies. When jealous Bree discovers that Anne blabbed she pulls back from her new friend, no longer completely trusting. Anne senses she has lost ground and - seeking to shore up her place in the Timmins world - spins Janelle a sob story about being neglected at home. Sympathetic and maternal, Janelle promises that Anne will always have a place in her family…

While investigating Lou's tattoo mystery, Sky and Janelle uncover that he has forgotten an entire week of his time in Moscow. Afraid, Lou tries to play it down but worried Sky seeks medical help. Karl interviews Lou and comes to a frightening prognosis - he could be suffering from early-onset Alzheimer's.

Rachel and Zeke accept Karl moving in on one condition - that he doesn't get bossy or try to be their father. Susan asks Karl not to directly discipline the kids; making him feel emasculated and unwelcome. Riled by the kids playing with his music equipment, and paranoid that they have turned Audrey against him, Karl presents Susan with a list of grievances. Susan goes over Karl's head and decides not to discipline the kids, confident the tension will soon blow over.

Boyd gets ‘romantic’ with Janae at work in a covert effort to get her fired. The plan backfires when a staff member reveals that prudish Karl is the only one who has a problem with it!
