    15th - 20th

    Jamie meets his mother
    Airing Sunday, 15th May 2005 at 19:30

Jamie’s off on a delivery job to Birmingham. Both Leanne and Danny are suspicious of his motives but neither come even close to the truth. He’s there to find his mum who he hasn’t seen since he was a child. Carol’s pleased to see him and after a heart-to-heart, the pair plan to meet up again. But while the cat is away the mouse will play, and when Leanne goes to the factory looking for Jamie and finds Danny instead, the couple decide to have a drink together. Passions are soon soaring and as Danny leans in for a kiss, how will Leanne respond?

Candice can’t stop bragging about her new job as a weathergirl but when Tyrone and Maria unexpectedly catch a glimpse of her in action – in a shop window – Candice is forced to admit she’s not quite the weathergirl she led everyone to believe. Back in the Rovers there’s plenty of mickey-taking and when Audrey offers a distraught Candice the chance to come back to the salon, it looks like she may be putting her TV career on hold.

There’s still tension in the Webster household as Kevin battles to bury his doubts over Sally’s fidelity, while Sally battles to bury her guilt over her affair.

And Rosie pushes Craig too far with her insensitive moaning about her family.

    An angry husband attacks Charlie
    Airing Monday, 16th May 2005 at 19:30

Charlie’s stunned when a burly man turns up at the builders yard and punches him in the face. The man tells Charlie to stay away from his wife and it soon becomes clear to Jason that Charlie’s been up to his old womanising ways again. But Jason can’t believe his ears when a creative Charlie marches into the Rovers and tells Shelley that Dev is responsible for the black eye. Will Shelley be taken in by Charlie once more?

As Jamie continues to lie about his visit to his mum, Leanne’s convinced he was with another woman. Danny does nothing to stop her thinking she’s being two-timed and when he asks her to meet up with him later she agrees. But when Jamie comes clean about his real reasons for going to Birmingham will Leanne change her mind about taking things further with Danny?

The fragile ceasefire at the Websters’ hangs in the balance when Justine turns up accusing Sally of having an affair with her husband. How will Kevin react when his suspicions over Ian are confirmed?

Mike’s shocked to see Adam back on the street, especially when he says he’s quit school and wants to move back home. But not as shocked as Penny who wasn’t expecting to be living with a teenager when she moved into Mike’s.

Elsewhere Mel’s enjoying life on the street. He has Norris running errands and Audrey paying for his lunch.

And Diggory Compton opens his new bakery on Rosamund Street, much to the annoyance of Dev and Fred.

    Shelley lashes out
    Airing Monday, 16th May 2005 at 20:30

Everyone’s reluctant to believe Charlie’s lies about Dev and he’s forced to send Jason back to the yard with a warning to keep his mouth shut. But Shelley’s fallen for it hook line and sinker yet again. When she accuses a devastated Sunita of conspiring with Dev against Charlie, it’s not long before the two women are embroiled in a cat fight and the only person smiling is Charlie.

Adam ruffles a few feathers as he sets up home in Weatherfield. Penny’s unhappy as he invades her love nest, and Danny is less than pleased to hear that Adam will be starting work at Underworld, ready to take over Mike’s share of the business when he retires.

Elsewhere, as Mel continues to pull the wool over everyone’s eyes he has a close shave with Norris, who finds him sleeping besides a recording of frantic typing. Mel tries to waffle his way out of trouble explaining he can’t afford to publish his work. Will Norris bite?

And things are looking up in the Webster household as Sally and Kevin share a night in. Has Kevin decided to kiss and make up rather than rock the boat?

    Charlie is arrested
    Airing Wednesday, 18th May 2005 at 19:30

As the rift between Shelley and Sunita grows, there’s more trouble on the horizon when Betty overhears Charlie threatening trouble with Dev and then asking Jason for a gun. He’s actually talking about a sealant gun for a job but Betty gets the wrong end of the stick and a stunned Charlie can’t believe it when the police arrive at the Rovers to arrest him for possession of a firearm. How will Charlie get out of this one?

Mel’s sunk into a depression as his writer’s block continues and despite Norris’ encouraging noises it seems he’s got something else up his sleeve. He takes a precious figurine from Emily’s but just as he is about make his escape Norris appears with news that the book club may have a solution to his money problems. But has Norris just caught Mel out?

Danny’s unhappy as Adam gets his feet under the table at Underworld. So when Penny offers a solution to his problems he can’t conceal his delight.

And Hayley is worried that Roy is acting strangely until Frankie tells her she thinks he’s planning a surprise trip to Naples

Norris makes a decision for Mel
    Airing Friday, 20th May 2005 at 19:30

As the book club hold an extraordinary meeting, Norris reveals his plans for Mel – to publish his book themselves. The members are easily tempted by the promise of easy money for a small initial outlay but a suspicious Ken reckons self-publishing is a risky business. Will Mel be able to convince them to chip in?

Charlie’s back on the street after the police realised they made a mistake. Betty’s mortified but Charlie and Shelley are unforgiving as they become the butt of everyone’s jokes. Charlie’s hurt by how quickly people were to condemn him and as the conversations stop every time Shelley walks in a room she takes refuge in the back, pleased to get away from the gossips.

Elsewhere Maria and Tyrone discuss living together, while Liz isn’t sure she looks forward to visiting Jim anymore. And how will Hayley react when she discovers her surprise trip isn’t to Naples after all?
