Episode 8
Tina O’Kane (Victoria Bush) is still in shock after inadvertently killing a man during her bungled bank hold-up. Plagued with guilt, she’s delivered back to Larkhall but the despair becomes too much for her and she tries to take her own life.
Meanwhile, Pat Kerrigan (Liz May Brice) is sweating over what to do with Natalie’s dead body; she knows she’ll have to move it from the tumble dryer; as a hot laundry is no place to hide a festering body. When Pat suddenly stumbles upon a disused man hole behind a washing machine, she is hopeful she has found a solution. However time isn’t on her side either when she overhears a maintenance man is about to arrive and fix the dryer Natalie is in.
Lou Stoke (Amanda Donohoe) is furious Dr Rowan Dunlop (Colin Salmon) has been leading her on. Although he denies he is still with his wife, Lou’s instincts are telling her otherwise. However Rowan is determined to prove her wrong and Lou is surprised when she listens to his offer.
Meanwhile, Lou has engineered her druggy sister Vicky (Melanie Cameron) a job teaching music to the girls on the G-Wing. She hopes it will keep her out of trouble. But Doctor Rowan’s tempting drug cabinet is proving to be the biggest lure for Vicky when she accepts the position.
Janine Nebeski (Nicola Stapleton) is desperate for more passion with sexy PO Donny Kimber (Sid Owen).When they are almost caught, Donny’s professional conscience kicks in and he puts the brakes on the relationship. He’s worried he will lose his job should they get caught and decides this relationship has to stop. Janine is devastated - how can he just switch his emotions off like that? But later Donny proves he is trying to make it work when he comes up with a plan for them to get a day out together.
The widow of the man who died during Tina’s bank raid has asked to meet her and is planning a visit to Larkhall but Tina is terrified. Surely this woman is going to rip her to shreds for causing the death of her husband? However his widow has a secret that will leave Tina feeling a lot better about the accident.
Under Vicky’s instruction the G-Wing inmates have a “Prison Idol” competition – as the girls belt out their songs there is one obvious winner.
Episode 9
Today is the day Janine (Nicola Stapleton) and her secret Prison Officer lover Donny Kimber (Sid Owen) have a free day from Larkhall, as Janine has permission to be escorted to her mother’s grave.
Lou Stoke (Amanda Donohoe) is glowing after the surprise proposal from Doctor Rowan (Colin Salmon), unaware he has no intention of divorcing his wife. She asks her sister Vicky (Melanie Cameron) to be bridesmaid and she reluctantly agrees despite knowing the truth about Rowan. Vicky is so desperate for him to continue to supply her drugs she is keeping the truth from her sister.
During a music class the Costa Cons are quick to spot Vicky is high on drugs and jump at the chance to blackmail her for some. But Lou walks in on the exchange and sends them all for urine tests.
Janine is in heaven during her day out; for once she and Donny can be a normal couple. She even persuades Donny to remove the handcuffs. But having tasted freedom, Janine decides she can no longer return to Larkhall prison and implores Donny to join her on the run. Donny urges her to reconsider; he will lose his job if she escapes. Or will he throw in his job for love?
Julie S (Victoria Alcock) is so moved after seeing a photo of her new granddaughter she decides to ask Dr Rowan for help to beat her cancer. Rowan jumps at the opportunity and suggests fighting for her rights for Herceptin. But is he doing this purely for Julie?
Meanwhile, Vicky is suffering from drug withdrawal and demands stronger drugs from Rowan who obliges. The drugs cause Vicky to fit and Rowan, realising how easy his life would be without her does nothing to save Vicky until Lou walks in.
But when Vicky comes to, she reveals everything to Lou forcing her to see Rowan for who he really is. Lou is furious that he used and conned her and loses her temper which forces Governor Joy (Ellie Haddington) to dismiss her from her job. And after many years of service on G Wing Body Bag (Helen Fraser) at last gets a spring in her step when she is promoted to Wing Governor!
Episode 10 - Series Finale
The female entrepreneur and top interior design goddess Catherine Earlham (Jan Francis) makes an appearance on This Morning with Fern and Phillip, in advance of her embezzlement court case. Could this darling of the media really have stolen from a pension fund?
Meanwhile, Janine (Nicola Stapleton) discovers she is pregnant with Donny’s (Sid Owen) baby. But his reaction isn’t as encouraging as she would have hoped, as he thinks she should terminate the pregnancy. But Janine wants to keep the baby and comes up with a convoluted story to explain how she became pregnant whilst in an all female prison. Governor Joy Masterton (Ellie Haddington), is naturally suspicious of her tale and demands to see her personal Officer Donny, how could this have happened on his watch?
Bodybag (Helen Fraser) is strutting around the wing like a peacock. She at long last has got her promotion; she is the new Wing Governor and is already putting her stamp on the place.
The women of G Wing are excited by the arrival of Catherine Earlham as she’s the nearest thing to a celebrity since Tanya Turner was behind bars. Catherine’s first request is they allow her to do an “at home” for a celebrity magazine – it would give Larkhall great publicity and surprisingly Governor Joy Masterton agrees to the idea. Soon all hands are on deck scrubbing and repainting the wing ready for the photographer. But has manipulative Catherine got an ulterior motive?
The once solid duo, Phyl (Stephanie Beacham) and Bev (Amanda Barrie) have fallen out and their friendship lies in tatters – it appears the new inmate Catherine has come between them. Her influence is spreading almost as fast as her business empire.
Meanwhile, Darlene (Antonia Okonma) is transfixed by Catherine who seems to have taken her under her wing and is giving her new hope. But Catherine is secretly using Darlene as a pawn in her twisted plan and the naïvely devoted Darlene is being drawn into a very dangerous situation.
Episode 11 - Christmas Special
Wing Governor Sylvia Hollamby (Helen Fraser) has never really enjoyed Christmas, and this one is no better. With overflowing drains on the G Wing and a decomposed hand appearing from a toilet, it looks like something sinister is at work. But Sylvia is a stout old boot and carries on as normal, until ex-inmate Natalie Buxton (Dannielle Brent) appears to her in a dream and takes on a very strange journey.
It is the night before Christmas and Sylvia is at home preparing for a visit from her son, Bobby Darren (Louis Weymouth). But when he visits to tell her he will be bringing his new partner, a vicious argument ensues, resulting in Sylvia damaging what fragile relationship they ever had.
Meanwhile on G Wing the mood is flat and there is a strong smell of drains permeating the landings. Christmas is going to be terrible with that stink in the air; something very bad must be lurking beneath.
But Bodybag soon halts any Christmas excitement there was on the wing when she announces that due to being short staffed, Christmas on G Wing is cancelled and they are all on lock down.
Tonight is the Prison Officer’s Ball and PO Mandy Goodhue (Angela Bruce) is hit with a blow when her partner Sandy unexpectedly walks out of her life, leaving her distraught and without a date. Donny Kimber (Sid Owen) offers to go instead, but Mandy wants a female date to make Sandy jealous. So Donny kindly goes the whole way in a massive make over – but Donny is no Doris when he puts on the slap.
Locked up and eight months pregnant Janine (Nicola Stapleton) unexpectedly goes into labour. Without a doctor on hand Bev (Amanda Barrie) steps in as a make-do midwife. But the labour is difficult and without medical help, Janine and her tiny tot may not make it.
The stink is getting worse and when the Larkhall sewers suddenly spill over through a loo into a cell, the two Julies work out the cause – Natalie Buxton’s body must be causing a blockage. With Pat (Liz May Brice) locked up in isolation it looks like they’ll have to fix it, before a plumber is called.
It’s been a tough day on G Wing but matters get a whole lot worse for Sylvia when the ghost of Natalie Buxton pays her a visit – she’s got some things to show this bitter old screw.
