Ellen tries to disguise her feelings in front of Nina, but Nina realises something is wrong, as the hospital drama continues.
Ellen eventually confesses to Nina that the chemo is not working and that she needs a much stronger form. She takes Nina to one side and tells her she doesn’t want her hair to fall out during the treatment and that she wants Nina to cut if off for her. Nina refuses, but Ellen says if she won’t do it, she will cut it off herself.
Nina finally agrees, and tearfully cuts her sister’s hair.
Elsewhere, Maggie and Charlie arrange to go out on a date but soon realise they have been set up. Maggie is shocked when her husband, Steve, turns up saying that he wants to talk to her. Steve says he has a job teaching English in Malaysia, and wants the children to join him there.
Meanwhile, Luke is devastated when Sol abuses his trust.
