Well something to do with - when they were both living in the apartments Amanda was going bnkrupt so burnt her kitchen on purpose for the insurance money the fire got out of control and burnt more properties including Josh's, Josh was not insured found out that Amanda was doing it for the money so blackmailed her that if she didn't give him the insurance money she was getting and the rest that his apartyment was worth then he would tell the police about the arson scam, when she couldn't pay up he sent her to summerbay after finding out she had connections there - Dan.
She didn't know why till we saw the project 55 story unfold.
