Coronation Street's Antony Cotton is going head to head with chat show host Paul O'Grady, and TV stalwarts Richard and Judy, with a new show on ITV1.
The Antony Cotton Show, an hour-long show combining celebrity chat and topical humour, will air at 1700 BST for a five-week run next month.
"I'm delighted to have been given this opportunity," said the 31-year-old.
Cotton will continue in his role as Sean Tully, which recently saw him win best actor at the British Soap Awards.
Both shows will be filmed at Granada Studios in Manchester.
It's going to be gossipy, light-hearted, chatty and irreverent, but most of all fun

"I love working on Coronation Street and producers have been kind enough to allow me to leave the cobbles earlier in the day to get into the studio next door to make the show," said Cotton.
"It's going to be gossipy, light-hearted, chatty and irreverent, but most of all fun with lots of tea and cake."
Award-winning chat show host O'Grady moved from ITV1 to Channel 4 in Spring 2006, leaving the broadcaster struggling to fill the crucial tea-time slot.
O'Grady shares the C4 time slot with presenters Richard Madeley and Judy Finnegan, with two programmes rotating every three months.
