Chrissie pulled her hand out, clutching the little package. She unwrapped it slowly making the moment last. It isn't, it can't be, she thought. Chrissie opened the box and her heart leapt. It was and it could be. She looked at the beautiful object that sat in the box. Chrissie burst into tears of happiness.
Jake: Is that a "yes I will marry you" or a "no I won't marry you"?
She giggled.
Chrissie: The first one.
She smiled. He took her hand and placed the ring on her finger.
Chrissie: It's beautiful.
She stretched her arm out and looked at it. The diamond glistened in the sunlight that shone through the window.
Jake: So you're going to be Mrs Jake Moon.
She grinned.
Chrissie: Yep.
She kissed him lovingly. She thought of something, then pulled away from the kiss.
Chrissie: What's the date today?
Jake: What?
Chrissie: What's the date?
Jake: The 3rd of December. Why?
Chrissie: Well I want to remember the day you proposed to me don't I?
Jake thought this made sense and nodded. Chrissie smiled as she thought about what the wedding day would be like.
Jake: Do you want anyone to come and visit you?
Chrissie thought for a while.
Chrissie: It'd be nice to see Zoe and I need to say sorry to Sam about Den and the Vic. Oh and i'd like to see Little Mo too.
Jake: Ok. Do you want me to go and ask them now or later?
Chrissie: Later.
She smiled. He kissed her gently.
Chrissie: I love you so much.
He smiled. He still couldn't believe she'd said she wanted to marry him.
Chrissie: You know I used to dream this day would come. I used to pretend it really would happen. You know getting married with your dream bloke, having kids.
She looked at Jake. He nodded.
Jake: Well one thing at a time eh? When you get out of the hospital, I am going to take of you and protect you.-He started to play with her curls, pulling them then letting them go- And if anyone tries to hurt you, I promise, I won't let them.
Chrissie: -She smiled and said- When i'm with you I feel safe anyway. I feel like nobody can hurt me.
He squeezed Chrissie's hand.
Jake: Why don't I go and get Sam, Zoe and Little Mo to come now? You look like you need a rest.
Chrissie: Yeah alright. Can you pack me some stuff please?
Jake: Sure. Like what?
Chrissie: You know toiletries, pyjamas, stuff like that.
Jake: Right. Ok i'll see you in couple of hours.-He started to get up-
Chrissie: Oi! Don't I get a kiss goodbye?
He kissed her passionately, then left...
