Heath Ledger and Michelle Williams have become parents for the first time.
The former 'Dawson's Creek' actress gave birth to a baby girl in Brooklyn, New York - where the couple recently bought a home - on Friday (28-05-05). The Hollywood pair have named their new daughter Matilda.
Heath and Michelle began dating last June after meeting on the set of their movie 'Brokeback Mountain' and have been inseparable ever since.
Heath - who shares a passionate gay kiss with Hollywood heartthrob Jake Gyllenhaal in the upcoming film - has been very coy over his romance with Michelle after admitting he didn't enjoy the intense media interest in his relationship with Naomi Watts.
However, last Christmas it was reported he had taken Michelle home to his native Australia to meet his parents - proving their romance was getting serious.
The handsome actor has previously dated 'Austin Powers' beauty Heather Graham. Meanwhile, Heath recently revealed he wants to move his new family to Italy.
He explained: "I am actually thinking of going to live in Italy The food and wine are great there We have a few places up our sleeves I would much rather work in Europe than America" Heath fell in love with Italy when he filmed new movie 'Casanova', which co-stars Sienna Miller, in Venice last year.
