well its ahrd to think of good eastenders storylines this year, as most have been den's death based.... i must admit i was gripped for the fortnight...not becuase of the chavs, but because of the acting talents of gerry cowper, david spinx, and leo's mom they did eastneder proud in what was a pretty appaling story!

I agree about the Demi/Leo storyline. It was good as we got to know the Millers more and some of the acting was good, especially from the parents. Shana Swash was also good but I did not think much of the acting from the guy who played Leo.

The storyline was too Romeo and Juliet for me. It made me cringe, and when I found out that Leo took the drugs cos he thought Demi was dead, when she was not, I cringed even more.

I think Den's death won it for EE.

The big three are easily the three most popular soaps with over 40% share most nights. That's more than twice the share that the 'also-ran' soaps like Hollyoaks get, like it or not. Sorry.

P.S. Travesty of justice last night. Emmerdale deserved to win. What the hell did EE do to deserve that award?

Still I'll wait for the big awards, the BAFTA's, to get a real impression on who's popular with the experts in the soap worlds. I mean one could multiple vote on the NTA's so it's a very unreliable scale of popularity.
