Yeah, I heard something about them becoming friends and talking about Johnny. So I think its a possible way for Ruby to find out.

i read this in inside soap!!

Tina threatens to leave Walford if johnny dosent introduce her to ruby. johnny invites tina to dinner. ruby spots the chemistry between the pair but johnny is quick to say that they have only been aquainted for a couple of weeks. Ruby forces him to admit they are acouple and the evening becomes more relaxed and it seems they might all get on!!! but johnny dosent tell ruby how long him and tina have really been together!!
