    Emmerdale Spoilers 1st - 5th April

    MONDAY

Chas Dingle knows she's on to something when she starts asking Liam about her son Aaron's BRCA2 gene test result which he has claimed was negative.

As the doctor tries to bluster through the conversation, unable to break patient confidentiality, Chas knows him well enough to know something's up.

Going to the source, Chas confronts Aaron wanting to know if he has inherited the faulty gene that caused her breast cancer.

Aaron's face says it all and the truth crushes Chas who's recovering from a double mastectomy in a bid to rid herself of the disease that killed her mum Faith.

Having been determined to shield Chas from the scary truth, Aaron's furious and levels up to Liam, making it clear he's crossed a line.

Will the fiery Dingle let his fists say the rest?

Sad news hits Paddy, Rhona and Vanessa who learn their former receptionist Pearl Ladderbanks has died.

Later there's more bad news for Vanessa who's told she's been called as a witness for the prosecution at Rhona's trial for Ivy's kidnap.

    TUESDAY

Chas Dingle takes one look at Liam's split lip and in an instant knows Aaron is to blame.

But before she can tear off to have a go at her son for using his fists in anger, the GP stops her.

As Liam urges her to try a different approach with her lad, who's tested positive for the BRCA2 gene and is clearly terrified about what the future will hold, Chas pauses and takes in his wise words.

Locking eyes it's undeniable that there's a spark between the friends who had become a bit of a thing when Chas found out she had cancer, caused by the very same faulty gene which has Aaron in a spin.

But it's not just Chas and Liam who have clocked their chemistry. Liam's receptionist, who he's been dating, has clocked it too?

Later, a calmer Chas acts on Liam's advice and starts up a conversation with her son who responds to her measured, sensitive tone and opens up.

As Aaron confesses that his test result feels like a death sentence, it's a massive weight off of his shoulders and Chas is relieved to be able to help shoulder his pain.

Is this the start of a new understanding for mother and son?

Elsewhere, Jacob learns his dad David has said he'll never return to Emmerdale because of his son's relationship with his ex, Victoria.

As Vic tries to comfort her crushed boyfriend she feels wracked with guilt about how her decisions have negatively affected so many people.

    WEDNESDAY

With the spark having reignited for Liam Cavanagh and Chas Dingle, the pair are yet to do anything about it.

As Charity urges Chas to go for it with dependable GP Liam, the doc turns to his ex, Leyla, and has a cryptic chat about his feelings for Chas without naming names.

But he's going to regret not spelling things out to Leyla who, thinking she's doing the right thing, encourages Ella, who's been going on dates with Liam, to make things official!

While Chas and Liam are biding their time waiting for the right moment to make a move, Ella gets in there first and after planting a kiss on her colleague, who she's been dating, she asks him to be her boyfriend!

Unable to say no, Liam ends up going along with it, instantly regretting it.

Leyla feels terrible when Liam explains what's happened and urges him to put things straight right away.

Will Chas have got wind of what's happened? When Liam sets out to tell her how she feels will they still be on the same page?

Aaron is given a dose of Paddy's paternal love when the vet reaches out to him about his BRCA2 test result and reminds him that he'll always be there for him.

    THURSDAY

All Ruby Milligan wants is a happy-ever-after with Caleb. Though their marriage is flirty and fiery she'd love nothing more to know her husband will always be committed to her.

But when Caleb reconnected with the Dingles and found himself part of a family, it had a knock-on effect on his marriage to Ruby who saw his long-lost relatives as a threat.

Ruby's not done herself any favours with the Dingles many of whom have found themselves on the wrong side of Caleb's mouthy wife.

As another row erupts between the on-off couple, Ruby absolutely loses it with Caleb.

But as she's tearing into her husband she ends up elbowing his sister Chas in the chest!

Given that Chas has just had a double mastectomy, she's the worst person Ruby could have hurt and she's horrified.

Will Caleb accept it was an accident or has Ruby totally blown it? Will the Dingles decide they're done with her?

Amy and Matty's wedding plans have been dampened by Claudette who told the couple that they wouldn't be able to use church property as Matty is trans.

Will Matty accept Claudette's apology ? and Kerry's offer to finance the big day?

Elsewhere, Tom boils with rage when Belle tells him a white lie.

Wanting his wife home, he fumes when she tells him she's working late as he knows she's lying.

As the evening wears on, Tom calls again and gets the same answer.

Knowing Belle's in The Hide, he then turns up and has to work really hard not to expose his red-hot fury.

Putting another performance, pretending he's the perfect chilled husband, he tells his wife to carry on having fun and returns home.

But behind closed doors his mask drops. Unable to control his anger at Belle's 'defiance', he totally trashes their home.

Will he calm down and confess to what he's done? Or will Tom make up a lie and feed it to Belle?

    FRIDAY

With their wedding looming it's time for Amy Wyatt and Matty Barton to celebrate the last days of their single lives!

At The Hide, Amy's loved ones, Victoria, Kerry, Moira and Amelia get together for some girly fun.

But Vic is miffed when ex-cruise ship entertainer Kerry not only arrives wearing her Cher costume ? but reveals she's hired a bevvy of 'butlers in the buff' for the night!

It's meant to be Amy's night but will her crazy mum Kerry take over the limelight?

And will Amy find out her mother still hasn't paid the bills for the big day?

Over at Butler's Farm, it's a far more sombre affair as emotional Matty sinks some beers with Mack, Ryan and Nate.

Will the couple get their dream day?
