Summer books her flight to Boston and Billy agrees to cook a roast dinner by way of celebration while Bernie takes Paul to his appointment with the speech therapist.

The therapist confirms that Paul?s speech and ability to eat solid food have deteriorated and suggests that it might be time to use a feeding tube.

Paul and Bernie return home and break the news that he can no longer eat solid food for fear of choking. Paul assures Billy and Summer if they liquidise his food, he?ll be fine. Billy, Summer, Bernie and Todd tuck into their roast dinner while Paul sets about his bowl of pur?ed food.

As Billy, Summer, Bernie and Todd clear away the plates, Paul fights back the tears.

Arriving at the cafe. Nina discovers a smouldering pan on the stove. Roy realises he must have been sleepwalking again and assures her it won?t happen again.

Later, Roy tells Dee-Dee that whatever the cost, he?s happy to pay in order to clear his name. Nina confides in Dee-Dee that she?s worried about Roy?s sleepwalking and wonders how on earth he?s going to pay his legal fees if it ends up going to court.

Roy is desperate to clear his name.

    WEDNESDAY

In the caf?, Steve moans to David that there?s been no interest in his dating profile. Debbie suggests he should try the cocktail night at the Chariot Square if he wants to meet someone. Steve returns home to find Ken Barlow trying on different jackets. When Ken reveals that he?s going to join him for cocktail night at the Chariot Square, Steve does his best to appear pleased. How will the evening go?

Debbie approaches Ken and Steve with drinks and pointing out Elspeth (Helen Lederer), in the corner, explains that she bought them and she?s had her eye on Ken all evening. Steve?s incredulous to realise Ken?s pulled. Ken and Elspeth hit it off and swap numbers and agree they?ll meet up again. Steve feels an utter failure.

Jenny and Daisy are horrified when Christina texts to say she is coming to stay for two weeks. Ryan is shocked when he sees Daisy telling her mum she is not welcome and suggesting she goes to visit her friend in Amsterdam. Christina calls in the Rovers and explains that her passport has expired and she has nowhere to stay.

When Ryan insists she should stay and have a drink as it?s the least they can do after she lent them all that money to buy the pub, Christina?s intrigued. Will she blow their cover?

Jenny panics when Christine shows up.

    FRIDAY

Glenda Shuttleworth is confronted by masked intruders in the Rovers

With Jenny heading off to a posh dinner with Rita and Daisy going away with Ryan, a glammed up Glenda Shuttleworth agrees to host the speed dating night at the Rovers. The night is lacking in romance aside from Christina taking a shine to a guy with a tattoo. With the chaos of the evening over and the pub closed, Glenda heads through to the bar to find masked burglars raiding the till.

One of the men orders her to get down on the floor and a terrified Glenda does as she?s told. As the robbers make off with the takings, a tearful and panicky Glenda calls the police. Jenny returns home to find out from Glenda that they?ve been burgled. Glenda puts on a brave face, but Jenny insists she takes the morning off.

Paul and Billy call at the Rovers to retrieve Paul?s laptop. They?re gutted to find out it was stolen by the burglars and Glenda feels terrible. With the pub closed, Glenda offers Jenny and Daisy a nightcap, but as she heads through to the bar, she relives the awful events of the night before and it?s clear they?re taking their toll.

Steve hits it off with Cassie.

Sarah calls at the corner shop flat and asks Adam if they can put the sale of the flat on hold for now. He assures her there?s no rush, but when he tentatively suggests it would be nice if they could be friends again, she tells him it?s too soon and hurries out.

    Adam tries again with Sarah.

Chesney receives a call from Dawn, the Admissions Officer at Oakhill, to inform him that Joseph passed the exam and she?ll be round tomorrow to interview him. Gemma and Chesney set about cleaning the house in preparation for Joseph?s interview but how will it go?
