Christmas is a special time in Ramsay Street this year as Chloe and Elly finally walk down the aisle in front of their friends and family. It's an emotional occasion - not least for Melanie and Krista who learn at the reception that they'll have to be interviewed to determine whether they'll be extradited to the UK on charges of drug possession and absconding! However, one of them may have some bargaining power...

Despite the tension bubbling away under the surface, the residents of the share house decide to celebrate the festive season with a big party. But as the fun gets underway, a near-fatal disaster ensues that could cost someone their life.

Elsewhere, Jane and Terese are in a dilemma after learning who was behind the council approving their project, and the bombshell proves the final straw for Toadie. Storming over to the Lassiters penthouse, he issues a dire ultimatum..."

Neighbours releases trailer for show's Christmas episodes
An eventful festive season on Ramsay Street.

Neighbours has released a teaser for the episodes airing over the festive period.

The Aussie soap, saved by Freevee in November 2022 after being given the axe by Channel 5 earlier that year, is set to air some big storylines over Christmas, including a wedding, a love triangle and someone pining for an old partner.

The newly released 30-second clip confirms some dramatic developments in the dynamic between Mackenzie Hargreaves, Haz Devkar and Holly Hoyland.

While Holly seems elated to celebrate her "first Christmas" with Haz, Mackenzie is left feeling deflated when things take an unexpected turn. After an argument, Holly slips into the pool, forcing Haz to jump in and rescue her.

Meanwhile, Paul Robinson isn't feeling very festive, as Terese Willis is happy with Toadie Rebecchi.

In the clip, Paul reminisces over his memories with his ex-wife, saying wistfully: "This time of year is not all about joy for some of us."

Elsewhere, Krista Sinclair clashes with David Tanaka, who had agreed to be her sober companion, asking him to leave immediately.

But it seems that love is in the air for at least one couple in Erinsborough as Chloe Brennan and Elly Conway finally tie the knot.

The couple walk down the aisle in matching white outfits, with Elly's aunt Susan Kennedy officiating and supporting her niece in the decision to marry the love of her life, who has been experiencing symptoms of Huntington's disease.

Neighbours has confirmed that Richie Amblin will appear in the show's Christmas Day episode.

Richie's latest comeback was revealed in the end-of-episode promo that aired in the final moments of Thursday's edition (December 21).

The former Erinsborough High student makes an unexpected appearance at the share house's festive party next week.

This comes as a big surprise to Mackenzie Hargreaves, who dated Richie when they were at school together, but will she be happy to see him?

Viewers have already seen Richie appear once before in the revival season, as he played a memorable role in the Erinsborough High protest earlier this month.

Richie was among the ex-pupils who descended on the school after hearing that it'd be closed down.

When the protest spiralled out of control and descended into a riot, Richie refused to move and security guards had to drag him out of the building by his legs.

Mackenzie split from Richie in 2020 when she learned that he'd used an offensive app to rate her performance in bed. The couple hadn't slept together, but Richie succumbed to peer pressure by joining schoolmates who were taking part in the app.

The reappearance of Richie comes as part of a dramatic Christmas episode for Mackenzie, Haz Devkar and Holly Hoyland.

The trio's love triangle has been spiralling out of control in recent days and the trouble will escalate further with a near-fatal accident in the share house pool on Christmas Day.

Neighbours releases its next episode on Christmas Day at 7am on free streaming service Amazon Freevee.
