    It?s official.

TV Tonight can reveal Neighbours returns to screens in September 2023.

An airdate is yet to be confirmed but the revived show on Network 10 will also welcome a brand-new family in Ramsay Street, the Varga-Murphy clan.

Hailing from the other side of the city, the Varga-Murphy family initially take up residence temporarily, and it quickly becomes evident there is more to their arrival than meets the eye.

Wives Cara and Remi, played by Sara West (Don't Tell, Wakefield, Peter Allen: Not the Boy Next Door) and Naomi Rukavina (Harry Potter Theatre Production, Run Rabbit Run, Pawno), and sons JJ, played by Riley Bryant (Surviving Summer 2) and Dex, played by newcomer Marley Williams in his first television role - make up the Varga-Murphy family.

Sara West said: "I'm so honoured to be a part of the new Neighbours legacy and really looking forward to bringing the Varga-Murphy family to Australian and international screens. Cara has a bold, impassioned love for her family and I love that her intentions have, so far, always been good. I hope having the Varga-Murphy's on tele will help better reflect the beautiful LGBTQIA+ community that I'm proud to be a part of and I can't wait to share the family with you!"

Naomi Rukavina said: "I am thrilled to be joining the new Neighbours legacy. As a stalwart of Australian drama television, the show is on the front foot of showcasing diverse and real representations of Australian families, not in a tokenistic way. The joys, sadness and madness of Neighbours has been a great adventure thus far and the Varga-Murphy family have already formed a special bond off screen and on. I can't wait to share it with the world."

Jason Herbison, Neighbours' Executive Producer, said: "We are delighted to welcome the Varga-Murphy family to Ramsay Street and the amazing cast portraying them. It feels fitting that the new season will herald the arrival of a new household, with many new stories to tell. They have fitted into Erinsborough beautifully, they are warm, fun and also very unpredictable."

Neighbours will continue to premiere in Australia on Network 10, its home for over three decades then Prime Video in Australia and New Zealand seven days later. UK and U.S. audiences can view the series on Amazon Freevee.

Neighbours releases first look as new family move in
And one of them gets spooked by the Mrs Mangel portrait.

    Neighbours spoilers follow.

Neighbours has released a first look at the revival series as we meet a new family in Erinsborough.

The show is due to return next week on Amazon Freevee, with some fresher faces set to join the ensemble alongside more familiar ones.

Among them are the Varga-Murphy family, consisting of mums Remi and Cara and teenage sons JJ and Dex, who are set to rock up as Jane Harris rents her home out on an Airbnb-type site called Rent-A-Home.

    https://www.instagram.com/p/CxDXmzCMDUO/

Remi and Cara explain how someone just knocked on the door of their previous home and made them an offer to buy, and they are planning to stay with Remi's parents while they build their new home.

However, her parents aren't "quite ready" for them yet, hence they need a place to live for the time being.

Jane, who is preparing for the big mysterious wedding that is set to take place, tells them to make themselves at home as she heads off to finish getting dressed, before JJ gets spooked by the iconic Mrs Mangel portrait hanging on the wall.

A description of the family reads: "Despite their different outlooks on life, mothers Cara and Remi are a united front when parenting their teenage sons, JJ and Dex. The household is full of love and playful energy, but that doesn?t mean you shouldn?t expect fireworks.

"Someone in the family has an ulterior motive for being in Erinsborough... And it?ll have explosive ramifications for their neighbours."

Neighbours' executive producer Jason Herbison said of the Varga-Murphys: "It feels fitting that the new season will herald the arrival of a new household, with many new stories to tell. They have fitted into Erinsborough beautifully, they are warm, fun and also very unpredictable."

Neighbours returns on September 18, with new episodes streaming on Mondays to Thursdays for free on Amazon Freevee in the UK and US. Network 10 will retain first-run rights in Australia for the new series.

Neighbours teases future for new family in latest episode
The Varga-Murphys are here to stay.

    https://www.digitalspy.com/soaps/nei...family-future/

Neighbours spoilers follow from Tuesday's episode (October 3), which is streaming now on Amazon Freevee.

Neighbours has hinted at the long-term future for the new Varga-Murphy family.

Cara, Remi and their sons JJ and Dex have been staying at Number 24 over the past fortnight after Jane Harris rented out her home to the newcomers.

The Varga-Murphys are currently on holiday in Erinsborough, but Tuesday's episode set the scene for how they'll ultimately become permanent residents on Ramsay Street.

An important conversation for the family arose when Remi voiced her doubts over their plan to build a new house in their home city of Werribee.

Remi's anxiety was partly influenced by the possible threat posed by the Linwell brothers. Recent mentions of the Varga-Murphys' backstory have revealed that the Linwells hold a grudge against Cara after she blew the whistle on their dodgy dealings.

In an open chat, Remi told Cara: "I trust your judgement and I know that nothing's happened since. But since we've been here, I just suddenly started thinking: wouldn't this make a great home?

"It's a great street, I love the neighbours and when do you ever get to move somewhere knowing so much about everyone beforehand?

"It's for the boys too ? JJ mainly. He likes the street, he's curious and interested in everyone. He seemed so lost at home."

With Number 30 empty now that Toadie Rebecchi and his family have moved in with Terese Willis, Remi suggested that they could change course by purchasing the property.

Remi also pointed out that she could secure work at the local hospital, while Cara could apply for a lucrative job currently being advertised at Lassiters.

Although surprised by these sudden suggestions, Cara was open to the idea of this becoming a family discussion.

Unfortunately, any conversation about the future would have to wait, as JJ made his excuses to leave and continue his ongoing detective work.

JJ is determined to find out whether he's right with his theory over Andrew Rodwell being his biological father.

When the Rodwells were out at the movies, JJ seized his chance to snoop through their house. Although JJ's brother Dex is now aware of his mission, his mums are oblivious.

With the Varga-Murphys now looking into a permanent move to Ramsay Street, is JJ only just getting started?

Neighbours releases new episodes from Mondays to Thursdays for free on Amazon Freevee in the UK and US. In Australia, the show airs from Mondays to Thursdays at 4.30pm on Channel 10, with a 6.30pm repeat screening on 10 Peach.

Neighbours kicks off feud for two Ramsay Street families
    Tensions run high.

    https://www.digitalspy.com/soaps/nei...-rodwell-feud/

Neighbours spoilers follow from Wednesday's episode (October 4), which is streaming now on Amazon Freevee.

Neighbours has launched a new feud for the Varga-Murphy and Rodwell families.

The clans went head-to-head in the closing moments of Wednesday's episode as JJ's secretive behaviour began to cause fireworks.

Viewers know that JJ suspects Andrew Rodwell is his biological father, although he has only shared this theory with his younger brother Dex so far.

In the latest Neighbours, JJ continued to sneak around the Rodwell family home after swiping a spare key.

JJ's hope of establishing a connection between himself and Andrew was seemingly achieved when he managed to find an interesting photograph in a Rodwell family album.

Unfortunately, JJ's detective work didn't go entirely unnoticed as Sadie returned home and caught him snooping.

JJ made the excuse that he'd come over to borrow some milk. While this seemed unusual, JJ cleverly pointed out that Sadie's mum Wendy had a similar relaxed attitude to trespassing, having paid an uninvited visit to Number 24 earlier while everyone was out.

Sadie thought nothing more of JJ's visit, but feared the worst when Wendy's watch mysteriously went missing from the Rodwell house.

With the Rodwells mistakenly assuming that JJ was responsible, a dramatic showdown followed on Ramsay Street as they bitterly clashed with the Varga-Murphys.

Wendy, Andrew and Sadie all pointed the finger, but Cara and Remi defended JJ after he protested his innocence.

As things got out of hand, it was left to Remi to drop the bombshell that they'd all be seeing much more of each other, announcing: "We're not going anywhere. We're your new neighbours."

Can the two families find a way to make peace, or are worse tensions still to come when JJ's true agenda is inevitably revealed?

Neighbours explores homophobia in Varga-Murphy family storyline
    Dex faces trouble at school.

    https://www.digitalspy.com/soaps/nei...ly-homophobia/

Neighbours spoilers follow from Thursday's episode (October 12), which is streaming now on Amazon Freevee.

Neighbours explored the upsetting effects of homophobia in Thursday's episode as show newcomers JJ and Dex Varga-Murphy faced a difficult first day at school.

JJ and Dex were keen to settle in as they joined Erinsborough High, but things got off to a rocky start when their mum Remi paid an unexpected visit.

Remi popped into the school as Dex had forgotten to bring his inhaler with him. Eavesdropping on the conversation, school bully Noah Dawes overheard a reference to Dex and JJ having two mothers.

When Dex and JJ confirmed this was the case, Noah tried to humiliate Dex in class by making offensive jokes about the Varga-Murphy family.

Erinsborough High's headteacher Jane Harris witnessed the end of Noah's outburst and immediately stepped in to shut it down, sending him out of the classroom.

Jane then called in Noah's father Pete, confirming that the troublemaker would be suspended for three days. Pete voiced his disappointment over Noah's behaviour, but also complained that the punishment was too harsh.

Back at home later, Dex reassured Remi and Cara that he'd received support from the other students.

Dex said: "It wasn't a big deal ? Noah was just showing off, trying to be a big man.

"It's way harder for Noah than me ? all the kids at school think he was being a tool."

In a moving conversation, Remi and Cara reflected on how the family's experiences with similar situations have changed over time.

Remi pointed out: "It was less than last time, which was better than the time before with JJ.

"The other kids siding with Dex ? that's new. I like that. It is getting better, isn't it?"

Cara replied: "Maybe this is the last time we'll have to have this conversation."

The drama at school soon fed into the ongoing uncertainty surrounding the future of Erinsborough High, as Jane learned that Pete was stirring up trouble.

Pete threatened to withdraw Noah permanently from Erinsborough High if his suspension wasn't cancelled ? and he claimed to have the backing of other parents who'd do the same with their own children.

With Jane under pressure to keep pupil numbers high to avoid the school being closed down, could she be forced to change her mind about Noah's punishment?

Neighbours confirms danger for Cara, Remi, JJ and Dex
Are the Linwell brothers in Erinsborough?

    https://www.digitalspy.com/soaps/nei...jj-dex-danger/

Neighbours spoilers follow from Thursday's episode (October 19), which is streaming now on Amazon Freevee.

Neighbours has confirmed that someone is targeting the Varga-Murphy family, with a second malicious incident causing trouble for the Ramsay Street newcomers.

The show's latest episode saw Cara, Remi, JJ and Dex receive a nasty shock as JJ prepared to go on another driving lesson with his loved ones.

The Varga-Murphys were horrified to find their car window smashed in, forcing them to cancel the lesson. This came just a few days after Cara's professionalism as Lassiters' building manager had been called into question thanks to a falling ceiling fan, which may have been sabotaged.

Cara shared the theory that the vandalism could be connected to JJ and Dex being bullied at school.

Several parents at Erinsborough High have threatened to withdraw their children in response to Jane Harris suspending school bully Noah Dawes.

Noah had taunted Dex with homophobic comments about his two mums, prompting Jane to step in with a zero-tolerance policy towards offensive remarks.

Remi had another worry on her mind, pointing out that the Linwell brothers could be taking revenge on Cara.

Cara played down this possibility, unaware that Wendy Rodwell recently contacted the Linwells and may have inadvertently revealed the family's whereabouts.

When the Varga-Murphys called the police, Andrew Rodwell arrived to take their statements.

While Cara explained about the bullying, Remi provided information about how Cara anonymously reported the construction company she was working for in Werribee after uncovering unsafe work practices. This led to the family receiving threats from the Linwells before they moved to Erinsborough.

Andrew agreed to investigate both possible theories, but with little evidence to go on, there wasn't much he could do in the meantime.

With enemies seemingly lurking in the shadows, is this just the start of the harassment facing the Varga-Murphys?
