Susan Calman's Grand Week by the Sea

I don't know if any of you have been watching any of Susan Calman's travel programmes on Channel 5, which go under different titles, depending on what sort of places she is visiting, but this week she came down to Clacton to film an episode for Susan Calman's Grand Week by the Sea, to be broadcast in August.

She spent several hours at the West Cliff Theatre, including a long interview with me, which will no doubt be cut to about five seconds! I have to say it was a completely different experience to being interviewed for local Anglia or Look East News, which I have done a few times. For local interviews, it's normally just the interviewer and a camera operator (once it was even just the interviewer, who also held the camera!). But with this production, as well as Susan, there were three camera operators, two sound recordists, a director, a floor manager, a continuity person and a couple of others just doing the running round and sorting things out!

We haven't got an actual date yet, but they said the programme will be broadcast in August. Bournemouth and Margate are also being covered in the series.
