I hated the original so I deff think this one is better, I hated it mainly because of Gene Wilder, I hate him and he played Willy Wonka so poorly. He was nothing like in the book, Johnny Depp was a more acurate version. In the original they didnt even use the propper songs, all the songs from the new one are straight from the book. It is due to Gene Wilder that they never made the film 'Charlie and the glass elevator' Roal Dhal (excuse my spelling) hated the original so much, he said they wrecked it, that he wouldnt allow them to make the next film. So basically the new one rocks my world, the original, hate it!

I didnt think that they sang as much as the first one, I enjoyed it, it was good to hear the life of the young wonka and the reasons for opening the factory, was a bit weird in places though.I thought the umpa lumpas looked Asian, not at all like the others, at all. never read the book but have been told it is very true to the book.
