The actor who plays Martin Platt is set to leave Coronation Street. Sean Wilson, who has played the role for 20 years, will be written out soon but producers say they'll leave the door open just in case he wants to come back.

Why would he come back the whole reason he is leaving is because they axed him?

Why dont they just get him back with gail or something? they could do something with him, rather than just axing him! Dont get me wrong, he's not exactly my fave on coronation street! but 20 years he's been on the show, he doesn't really deserve this does he?

I think it is a great shame that he is going he is a great actor and has had some great storylines it would be better to maybe get rid of some of the newer awful characters that they have introduced and maybe revive some of the older actors

Martin has been in the soap for a long time and as in the real world nobody has a job for life these days,sound hard may be, but many actors dont get roles that last 20 years.Son he has been lucky.

Martin will become the mascot for Weatherfield County FC and have to dress up as a chicken and he will fall for the woman mascot of another team and that's how he leaves.
