"Love, betrayal and revenge" are in store for Summer Bay next year.

    https://www.digitalspy.com/soaps/hom...21-storylines/

    Home and Away spoilers follow.

Home and Away fans can expect "stories of new beginnings, second chances, love, betrayal and revenge" in 2021, with Australian network Seven giving its first hint at what's to come for the residents of Summer Bay next year.

The channel has teased details about some major stories coming our way once the new year arrives (via TV Tonight) and we're going to be treated to a "special wedding", the return of a familiar face and an incident that threatens to divide the community.

The full synopsis reads: "It's the No. 1 drama that's embedded in Australia's DNA and in 2021, award-winning Home and Away will explore stories of new beginnings, second chances, love, betrayal and revenge.

"A ghost from the past will threaten to derail one of the Bay's favourite couples; a familiar face returns to right some wrongs; and when love becomes twisted and trust is misplaced, the community will be torn apart.

"Plus a special wedding we've all been waiting for ? all set against the beautiful backdrop of sunny Summer Bay."

Those are all the details we've got for now but there's plenty there for fans to speculate about ? and of course, Digital Spy will keep you up to date with all the twists throughout the year.

Looking at the more immediate future, Bella Nixon (Courtney Miller) will soon be seen taunting Colby Thorne (Tim Franklin) over his affair with Taylor Rosetta (Annabelle Stephenson), while Colby also has business to attend to with Ziggy Astoni (Sophie Dillman) as he continues to try to cover up his involvement with Ross Nixon's murder.

Dean Thompson (Patrick O'Connor) will also face a backlash from several residents after he returns from his impromptu trip away, before experiencing more trouble when his young son Jai Simmons (River Jarvis) suddenly falls ill as he takes care of him overnight for the first time.

Home and Away airs weekdays at 1.15pm and 6pm on Channel 5 in the UK, with first-look screenings at 6.30pm on 5STAR.

    Digital Spy article:

Home and Away is now off air until 2021 on Channel 5 ? here's why
The show takes its annual break.

    https://www.digitalspy.com/soaps/hom...hannel-5-2020/

Home and Away fans in the UK will have to cope without their fix of Summer Bay action on Channel 5 over the next few weeks.

The popular daytime soap has disappeared from the schedules from today (November 23) in order to take its annual festive break.

Every year, Home and Away goes off air on Channel 5 in the run-up to Christmas in order to maintain a gap with the Australian broadcasts.

The final UK episode of the year aired on 5STAR last Thursday (November 19) and on Channel 5 on Friday (November 20).

This ended on a cliffhanger, as Dean Thompson (Patrick O'Connor) made the impulsive decision to snatch his young son Jai Simmons after fearing that he'd lose access to the youngster.

The show is not expected to return until January, but an official date for this won't be confirmed until nearer the time.

Channel 5 is forced to take an annual break as Home and Away doesn't air all-year-round in Australia either. It traditionally airs enough episodes to stay on Channel 5 for 46 weeks of the year, although even fewer episodes than usual were screened in 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The show will also be taking a break in Australia imminently too, with a 90-minute season finale episode scheduled in on Channel 7 for Monday, November 30.

Fellow Aussie soap Neighbours is still on air as usual, but the lunchtime episode has now moved to the earlier timeslot of 1pm.

Channel 5 will be airing festive films in the afternoon in the run-up to Christmas, while Home and Away's 6pm slot has been taken by repeats of Friends.

Digital Spy article with the 2021 promo video we saw after last night's 2020 season finale in Aust:

Home and Away teases Heath Braxton return in 2021 promo
    He's back!

    https://www.digitalspy.com/soaps/hom...g-return-2021/

Home and Away spoilers follow for UK and Australian viewers.

Home and Away has given fans a glimpse at Dan Ewing's return to the role of Heath Braxton.

Heath features briefly in the first promo for 2021, which teases viewers with a first look at upcoming storylines.

Dan was spotted filming for Home and Away earlier this year alongside regular cast members Rob Kipa-Williams (Ari Parata), Ethan Browne (Tane Parata) and Patrick O'Connor (Dean Thompson).

No official details were released about Heath's return storyline at the time. The latest promo is the first time that Home and Away bosses have officially confirmed his comeback.

Heath was a regular on Home and Away between 2011 and 2014, but also returned for a guest stint in 2016 and 2017.

Home and Away aired the new promo in Australia on Monday (November 30) after the 90-minute season finale episode.

The last episode of the year was more low-key than previous finales, but did feature trouble for Colby Thorne (Tim Franklin) behind bars as a group of dangerous prisoners surrounded him and vowed to take revenge.

Meanwhile, Ziggy Astoni slept with Tane Parata after weeks of chemistry between them. Tane also found himself at odds with his older brother Ari over whether to carry out an armed robbery to repay a debt to their enemies.

Elsewhere, Martha Stewart's estranged son Kieran began to show a darker side to his personality, and Jasmine Delaney reconnected with her old flame Lewis.

Home and Away will now be off air in Australia until 2021. The show is already on its break on Channel 5 in the UK.

Following on from the previous post, there is now this article by Nowtolove.com.au:

A River Boy, a diamond ring and plenty of romance: The first teaser for Home And Away?s 2021 return is here to fill you with excitement
    There's A LOT to unpack.

    https://www.nowtolove.com.au/celebri...1-teaser-66106

Last night's Home And Away season finale wasn't exactly what fans were expecting.

The somewhat cliff-hanger ending had fans torn with many left disappointed that there wasn't enough action and drama as compared to previous years. After all, we're STILL reeling from the 2019 hospital siege that saw beloved character Mason shot and killed.

Regardless of whether you loved or loathed the last episode for the year, we're already moving on and looking to 2021 with the first juicy new teaser for the show.
And this time it absolutely does not disappoint.

Literally us eating up this trailer and bouncing in our seats:

There's A LOT of love, new faces and old (hello River Boy, Dan Ewing) and plenty of drama, so let's digest it all, below.

    River Boy return

It's not every day a fan favourite returns to Summer Bay, let alone a River Boy. After much speculation we've now got our first glimpse of Dan Ewing, who played Heath Braxton on the show from 2011 to 2014, back in the Bay.

Albeit the briefest of glimpses, we're giddy with excitement at the prospect of this Home And Away hunk returning.

Exactly what brings Heath back is yet to be determined, although there is a popular fan theory he's in town to break ex-River Boy turned cop, Colby, out of prison. Dan has also been spotted filming scenes with Rob Kipa-Williams (Ari Parata), Ethan Browne (Tane Parata) and Patrick O'Connor (Dean Thompson).

    Drovers Run meets Summer Bay

Fans have been eagerly awaiting the arrival of McLeod's Daughter's icon, Bridie Carter's arrival since news first broke she would be joining the show.

Now, we have our first proper look at her character, and someone better warn Marilyn because she has her sights set on John!

"You look like you work out," her character says to him before then cutting to a clip of her saying: "Let's have some fun together."

Seeing as John and Marilyn recently split and have been exploring dating thanks to the help of a few apps, a new romance seems very likely.

    Put a ring on it

Fans were over the moon when a new love interest for Tori arrived in town in the form of doctor Christian Green.

The couple have been going strong and it looks like their relationship is about to become a whole lot stronger. Yes, we're talking about a proposal.

"You, me, Grace as a family," Christian says to Tori, who simply responds: "What are you saying?"

He gives her a very telling look, that says to us it's all but confirmed.

Penny teased the possibility of a proposal in a recent interview with TV WEEK, saying: "When people meet later in life, as Tori and Christian have, they know what they want and things can move fast.

"Hold on to your hats, people!"

    Love & heartbreak

One thing is certain when watching the 2021 Home And Away teaser: There is a LOT of kissing. After a hot hook-up in the season finale it seems tensions are still simmering between Tane and Ziggy. Someone better throw a bucket of water on us because it doesn't look like it's cooling off any time soon, either.

Meanwhile, the spark between Jasmine and her former flame Lewis, played by newcomer Luke Arnold, is still very much alive. Could she find love again after so much heartache? We hope so.

We also get a first glimpse at another newcomer, Sam Barrett, who was spotted on set earlier this year. And it looks like she may cause problems between Bella and Nikau.

    Colby?s fate in question

We see Bella in tears in the teaser, and while it's cut together with clips of Nikau cosying up to the newcomer, we have to wonder if her tears could be for Colby.

The former cops' fate hung in the balance in the final moments of the finale, as he was surrounded by threatening prisoners. Furthermore, he's noticeably absent from the 2021 promo.

We'll have to wait with baited breath to see if Colby's alive or at the very least, okay.

Article in the Sydney Sunday Telegraph TV Guide section:

    "Home and Away 2021

SUMMER BAY has long been a nursery for some of Australia's best new talent and this year will be no different. Joining Seven's longest-running drama, UK-born, Nigerian-raised Anna Samson found her way to Sydney in her early teens, before moving to Melbourne to study at the Victorian College of the Arts. Her previous credits include 10 drama 'Wake in Fright' and HBO drama 'The Leftovers'. She will play Mia Anderson, a gutsy, gorgeous and strong-willed mother of one. Her daughter Chloe is brought to life by Sam Barratt, a WAAPA graduate who has appeared semi-regularly in ABC soap 'The Heights'. The two arrive in the Bay and come face-to-face with their past in the shape of Ari Parata, who previously dated Mia and lost a baby boy together. Ari's grief manifested itself as self-drstructive behaviour, which landed him a 10-year prison sentence. In the fallout, Mia moved her daughter away from the only father she'd ever known. Can they heal old wounds and be a family again?"

11 huge Home and Away spoilers for the 2021 season
New faces, a possible departure and a fan favourite returns.

    https://www.digitalspy.com/soaps/hom...-willow-ziggy/

Home and Away spoilers follow for UK and Australian viewers, including the identity of Witness X.

Home and Away may already be back on screen in the UK, but over in Australia, fans are still eagerly awaiting the launch of the show's 2021 season at the beginning of February.

The Summer Bay soap has been off air in Oz since November, when a low-key season finale episode sparked a mixed reaction from fans.

Fortunately, there'll be no shortage of drama in the new season and spoilers have been dropping left, right and centre in recent weeks, thanks to official trailers and exciting casting announcements.

Here are the biggest storylines to expect from the new season.

    1. Colby's fight for life

When Home and Away finished up for the year at the end of November, Colby was facing serious danger in prison as several of his fellow inmates surrounded him menacingly.

Colby had been trying to keep quiet about his past as a police officer in order to avoid becoming a target behind bars, but once his secret was out, a number of the prisoners appeared to have an axe to grind.

As seen in a recent trailer, Colby will be left in jeopardy following the altercation and will be rushed to hospital, where he fights for his life.

Tim Franklin, who plays Colby, is rumoured to have finished filming for the show last year. It seems we're reaching the end of Colby's time in the show, but will he die?

    2. Jasmine's new romance

Home and Away's 2020 season finale introduced the character of Lewis Hayes, played by Luke Arnold. Lewis crossed paths with his old flame Jasmine by chance and clearly enjoyed catching up.

In the new season, Jasmine's reunion with Lewis will take a romantic turn, giving her a chance to move on after Robbo's tragic death.

Luke recently told TV Tonight: "They had a real connection, there were flirty times but it never really turned into a relationship.

"The first part of the story is really about him working out whether he can move on from a tragedy he's gone through recently, and whether Jasmine can play a part in that."

    3. Christian's past is revealed

The arrival of Lewis will also spark an intriguing new storyline for Christian. Lewis works as a nurse and when he crosses paths with Christian at the hospital, he's alarmed to recognise him from the past.

Lewis blames the surgeon for the death of his late partner and tries to warn Jasmine that Christian is a danger to his patients. Although he quickly realises it's best not to cause a scene, he vows to watch Christian like a hawk from now on.

Luke told Who magazine: "Lewis wants to get into it with Ditch Davey's character Christian Green, but when he reconnects with Jasmine, he's torn between his budding new romance and his building obsession with Christian."

    4. Martha's son reveals his dark side

The final Australian episodes of 2020 also featured the arrival of another new character ? Martha's secret son Kieran, played by Rick Donald. Martha had been estranged from Kieran for some time and reluctantly confided in her family about their troubled history.

Kieran is a recovering alcoholic and has already shown an aggressive side in episodes broadcast in Australia. The new season will see Alf become uneasy over his presence in the Bay, but Martha can't help defending her son. Is Alf right to be worried, and could this cause a rift between the Stewarts?

    5. Ari and Tane remain in danger

The 2020 season ended with Tane and his family still in danger thanks to the gang that he owes money to. Tane and Ari had agreed to one last dodgy job to pay off the debt, but the storyline remained unresolved at the end of the year.

While there have been few spoilers revealing how the scenario plays out from here, Tane's tormentors are unlikely to disappear quietly. Will the planned job go ahead?

    6. Tane and Ziggy's romance begins

Tane and Ziggy have been growing closer for months and they've been heavily tipped to become a proper couple this year. Home and Away's official trailer for 2021 shows Ziggy struggling to resist Tane, especially when he steps up his flirtatious attempts to win her over.

Dean is still heartbroken over his split from Ziggy and wants her back, but will he continue his efforts in 2021, or back down quietly and let her be happy with another man?

    7. Ari's past is revealed as an old flame arrives

Home and Away bosses have confirmed that Ari will face his own blast from the past this year when his old flame Mia, played by Anna Samson, arrives in Summer Bay.

Ari and Mia were together years ago, but tragedy hit their relationship when they lost a baby boy together. Ari went on a downward spiral afterwards and ended up in prison, while Mia cut herself off from him for good.

Mia will be joining the Bay with her daughter Chloe, played by Sam Barrett. Ari was once a father figure to Chloe, so how will he react when the family he once knew turns up? Could this affect his current relationship with Mac?

    8. Ryder enjoys a new romance

While Chloe knows Nikau from when they were younger, it seems that Bella has nothing to worry about as Ryder will be the newcomer's love interest.

Late last year, Lukas Radovich and Sam Barrett ? who play Ryder and Chloe ? were pictured filming romantic scenes together on Palm Beach. This will be Ryder's first relationship since his ill-fated fling with Jade Lennox last year.

    9. Heath Braxton returns

Home and Away's 2021 promo has also confirmed the return of Dan Ewing's popular character Heath.

No official details of Heath's return storyline have been revealed just yet, but Dan was spotted filming with Rob Kipa-Williams (Ari Parata), Ethan Browne (Tane Parata) and Patrick O'Connor (Dean Thompson) a few months ago.

Heath, who's thought to be returning as a guest, was a regular on Home and Away between 2011 and 2014 before coming back for another stint in 2016 and 2017.

    10. Willow returns

Willow took time out from Summer Bay at the end of last year, after betraying Colby to Angelo and giving evidence against her friend in court. However, Sarah Roberts ? who plays Willow ? has not left the show and will be back on screen again this year.

Little more is known about Willow's future at the moment, but fans will be keen to see whether she can ever build bridges with Bella and Dean after breaking the Mangrove River code by cooperating with the police.

    11. John's new romance

John will soon be enjoying his first romance since splitting from Marilyn. Show bosses have cast former McLeod's Daughters actress Bridie Carter as newcomer Susie, a real estate agent who takes a shine to John.

Billed as charming and intelligent, Susie arrives in the Bay looking for a fresh start. Will she and John form a lasting connection?

Home and Away airs weekdays at 1.15pm and 6pm on Channel 5 (UK) and returns on Monday, February 1 at 7pm on Channel 7 (Australia).

Nowtolove.com.au article with H&A 2021 sneak peek (although nothing really new):

EXCLUSIVE: ?Wedding, pregnancies and new faces?: Home And Away?s executive producer gives a sneak peek of the show?s 2021 return
This year is all about ?new beginnings?.

    https://www.nowtolove.com.au/celebri...-preview-66568

Who could forget the tense moments in the 2020 season finale of Home And Away?

Fans gulped as former cop Colby faced jail inmates baying for his blood. Elsewhere, after heartbreak, love was set to bloom once more.

In our special preview, Colby is left fighting for his life. We can also reveal a host of new characters ? and the return of some familiar ones ? will bring waves of drama to Summer Bay.

Series producer Lucy Addario exclusively tells TV WEEK, 2021 is all about "new beginnings".

"At its heart, this show is about love," she says. "You have to see a wedding; there'll be pregnancies and new faces. And there will be events that throw the Bay into disarray."

    End of the line

Things were looking grim for Colby (Tim Franklin, below) after he was found guilty of killing his abusive stepfather, Ross Nixon (Justin Rosniak). The former policeman was in clear peril as the men he'd helped put in jail advanced on him.

When we pick up this season, the fight is to save him before it's too late.

"The last image was of the prisoners coming towards Colby," Lucy says.

"We see if he'll survive in prison or not.

"One of the big fears, particularly from Dean [Patrick O'Connor], who's spent time in prison, is that when they find out Colby's a cop, he's a goner."

    Willow?s big decision

Without doubt, Willow's unmasking as Witness X was one of the big shocks of 2020. Willow, as Witness X, gave evidence in Colby's trial, ultimately sealing his fate and sending him to jail.

After Willow (Sarah Roberts) then fled the Bay, you might think she was gone for good. But not so?

"While she thought she was doing the right thing in saving Dean from going down for Colby's mistake, she will return to try to make things right," Lucy says.

"What she did [testifying at Colby's trial] was for Dean, and she needs to make sure he's OK."

    Hot love triangle

Now here's a pair with more sizzle than a Bunnings sausage barbecue!

Ziggy (Sophie Dillman) and Tane gave into temptation and found themselves dancing in the sheets in the season finale. While she's drawn to Tane, she still loves her ex, Dean, and here is her big dilemma in 2021.

"Ziggy wants to put everything behind her ? and she really likes Tane ? but Dean is very much in love with her," Lucy says.

Are you Team Tane or Team Dean?

    Call the nurse

Sparks were flying when Jasmine bumped into old friend and fellow nurse Lewis in the season finale. After losing Robbo (Jake Ryan), this is Jaz's chance to move to a different groove.

"They did date back at uni," Lucy says. "Hopefully, Lewis [Luke Arnold] is the one to make Jasmine [Sam Frost] take off her wedding ring. Lewis has history as well, and we learn he's lost his wife through an accident. Jasmine and Lewis are bonded by grief."

But Lewis is on a collision course with Dr Christian (Ditch Davey), the man he believes is responsible for his wife's death.

"There's some bad blood there," Lucy warns.

    A River Boy returns

In the first week, long-time fans will be treated with the reappearance of a River Boy favourite.

"He's only back in a cameo," Lucy says. "But we were glad to have him."

What has prompted the River Boy's return? We can reveal he resurfaces as part of the storyline involving Tane (Ethan Browne) and Ari (Rob Kipa-Williams) being blackmailed into a robbery.

As to exactly which River Boy it is, we'll just have to wait a little longer to find out?

    Ticking time bomb

Last year, stalwart Alf and his daughter Roo were gobsmacked to learn Martha had a son, Kieran.

"While it was a shock, they got over it," Lucy says of Alf (Ray Meagher) and Roo (Georgie Parker).

"They're just trying to protect Martha [Belinda Giblin]? and don't quite trust Kieran [Rick Donald]."

And they had a reason not to, with Kieran's dark past of alcohol abuse and violence soon exposed. In the finale, we watched an enraged Kieran punch a tree ? and it was obvious his issues were far from resolved.

This year, things spiral out of control as Kieran's battle with the booze surfaces. But could it jeopardise Alf and Martha's young marriage?

"Kieran is quite volatile," Lucy shares. "Alf and Roo are in for quite a ride."

    The next step

Against all expectations, the romance between doctors Christian and Tori (Penny McNamee) is beating like a racehorse's heart. Last year, Tori was rocked on her heels when Christian told her he wanted to move to the Bay permanently to be with her.

"He does live in the moment and knows it's right," Lucy says. "He's smitten by Tori."

Having decided to make Summer Bay his home, Lucy says Christian and Tori's whirlwind romance moves up a notch. But are they both ready to take their relationship to another level?

    Looking for love

Former McLeod's Daughters star Bridie Carter returns to the show for her third role, this time as attractive real estate agent Susie McAllister. And she sets at least one heart racing.

"In comes Susie and she captures John's [Shane Withington] eye and they quickly hit it off," Lucy says.

But buckle up, as wily Susie is a larger-than-life character, she adds.

"There's more to Susie than meets the eye," Lucy hints.
