    Exclamation Casualty Spoilers 2019

    https://www.digitalspy.com/soaps/cas...spoilers-2019/

    1. Connie to be targeted

Hold onto your hats, Connie’s about to take centre stage again – and she’s in trouble. Big trouble. After a short break from her duties as the ED’s top boss (she’s been visiting Grace in America, FYI), Connie will soon return to work and head first into one of her most sinister stories yet.

The show’s winter trailer showed a bruised and battered Connie lifeless at the bottom of the stairs, with it later looking like she was being followed prior to the shocking incident. But as for who has attacked Connie, and whether she will be okay, you’ll just have to wait and see…

    2. Iain’s nightmare gets even worse

Although it doesn’t seem possible, Iain’s never-ending nightmare can actually get worse – and believe us, it does.

The once-so-positive paramedic has been trapped in an unrelenting cycle of inner turmoil ever since Sam’s death last year, unable to shake off his guilt over the tragic motorway pile-up.

Sadly, Iain’s troubles really are only just beginning as another tragic twist is about to turn his life upside down – again. We’re not going to give anymore away at this stage, but we already know that Iain will be finding himself in trouble with the law as his story progresses. And here’s a clue: keep your eyes peeled for a shocking cliffhanger later this month.

    3. Alicia’s child safeguarding story

Alicia is finally learning to trust her instincts where her medical abilities are concerned and this new-found confidence couldn’t come at a better time. When she fears that a child is in danger from his mum, Alicia will fight tooth and nail to make sure her patient is brought to safety.

Chelsea Halfpenny, who plays the medic, previously revealed that she'd been busy filming a big stunt. "We've filmed an exciting episode involving child safeguarding," Chelsea told Inside Soap recently. "I got to film some really cool stuff – I went on location and did a mini-stunt, that's all I can say."

    4. Ethan’s proposal

With her career is going from strength to strength, Alicia will also be facing some big decisions in her personal life when her boyfriend Ethan decides to pop the question.

Wanting to affirm his commitment to Alicia after everything they’ve been through, Ethan plans a romantic proposal – but fans will have to stay tuned to see whether he gets the answer he is hoping for.

    5. Duffy's diagnosis

Duffy has been suffering in silence ever since self-diagnosing herself with dementia last year, but she’s finally about to face up to her fears.

Aware that she can’t keep delaying the inevitable, Duffy undergoes the necessary tests but is left more fearful than ever when she struggles with the memory examination. Is Duffy about to get the diagnosis she’s been dreading?

    6. Marty’s lies are exposed

He’s already in a bit of a pickle where his love life is concerned, but Marty’s dodgy decisions are about to impact his job as well. The effervescent new nurse is desperate to be all things to all people, but will learn the hard way when his lies start to catch up with him.

As a result, Marty will realise he need to seriously change his ways – and fast – but whether Robyn and doctor Joshua can forgive his fibs is a different matter entirely...

    7. Louise’s financial woes

We’ve enjoyed seeing more of Louise of late and her story will keep on gathering momentum at the start of this year. Despite her recent promotion, cash-strapped Louise has found herself struggling financially and her personal problems are only set to get worse.

As a result, Louise will be forced to make some difficult decisions in order to make ends meet, but could the reappearance of a familiar face prompt her to start fighting back?

    8. Ruby held hostage

After a tricky start, rule-abiding Ruby finally appears to be finding her way on the ambulance team, but she could have her confidence tragically knocked when a callout turns terrifying.

We already know from the trailer that Ruby will be caught up in a horrifying hostage situation over the next few weeks, but will she escape unscathed? There's only one way to find out!

    9. An exit... and some new arrivals

We’re staying tight-lipped on who’ll be bowing out of the ED over the coming weeks, but fans should also expect to see some more arrivals at some point later in the year as well.

When Digital Spy spoke to show boss Lucy Raffety last August, she promised that fans will be seeing some new doctors in the department by the end of the series, so watch this space!

We know there's a lot to digest, so we've broken down the biggest talking points right here.

    1.Meet Archie and Will

First up, let’s meet newcomers Archie and Will. With a handful of exits lately (and possibly a few more on the way...), there’s no doubt that the ED is in desperate need of some fresh blood. And these two could be just what the doctor ordered.

Luckily, fans don’t have long until they meet feisty medic Archie as she’ll be making her first appearance in a few weeks time, with Will joining shortly after.

Archie – played by the brilliant Genesis Lyne – is bold, bolshy and extremely confident and will find herself coming up against her boss Connie just hours into her first shift. Despite that, it doesn’t look like Will – played by Jack Nolan – is all that fazed by her if the trailer is anything to go by. But something tells us that could all be about to change…

    2. Connie struggles to cope

Connie has had the wind taken the wind taken out of her sails following her recent attack, but sadly, her dark new story is only just getting started.

Casualty’s tantalising trailer shows Connie growing increasingly paranoid in the wake of her brutal beating, especially when she later believes that the attacker is at her house.

As Connie crumbles under the stress of it all, her friend Elle Gardner can be seen imploring her to get help. But will Connie listen? And who was responsible for her shocking attack?

    3. Duffy gets a devastating diagnosis

It was the moment Duffy was dreading, but upcoming scenes will see her get an official diagnosis. The trailer shows Duffy getting the news she so desperately feared when the doctor confirms that she is indeed in the early stages of dementia, leaving her with some big decisions to make in the aftermath.

We always knew that this was going to be a big series for show stalwarts Duffy and Charlie, and as the story gathers momentum over the coming months, it certainly won't be one we'll be forgetting in a hurry. Have the tissues at the ready as there could be many more tear-jerking moments on the way *sob*.

    4. David attacks Charlie

One of the most shocking moments in the new promo has to be good-natured nurse David attacking Charlie – his senior in both senses of the word.

It remains to be seen what brings David, who usually wouldn't hurt a fly, to shove Charlie quite so violently, but we’re intrigued. Very intrigued. And also a bit worried about what the repercussions could be afterwards.

Will Charlie forgive David for his violence? Or could David lose his job over this?

    5. Jacob’s mum Omo returns

We already knew that Omo will be on our screens this spring and her return story is shaping up to be just as heart-wrenching as her previous one. Former EastEnders star Ellen Thomas has reprised her role for another stint as Jacob’s mum Oma, when the show delves further into Jacob’s backstory.

The trailer shows Jacob coming face-to-face with his mum for the first time in months and bearing the brunt of her emotions as she angrily confronts him over "abandoning her".

Charles Venn, who plays Jacob, previously told Digital Spy that the nurse’s past would be explored further this year, so stay tuned.

    6. Jade’s job in jeopardy

She’s not been in the ED long, but Jade’s future on the busy ward could be up in the air when she gets a firm telling off from Charlie.

Jade’s colleagues can be seen looking on in horror as Charlie reads her the riot act, but what has she done to make him so angry?

    7.Trouble for Ruby?

As we've already revealed, Ruby has a dramatic few months ahead after she befriends grieving teenager Dani in this Saturday's episode (March 9). Georgia Hughes has been cast in the semi-regular role of Dani, who is set to feature in a number of key episodes up until the summer.

While the trailer doesn’t give us much more information on where exactly this story is heading, we can assure you that Ruby is definitely one character you’ll be wanting to keep a close eye on over the coming months...

    8. Iain’s story isn’t over

Although the trailer reveals that Iain does indeed wake up from his coma, it probably won’t come as much of a surprise that his journey doesn’t end there.

Fans can expect to see a whole new chapter in Iain’s mental health story when he comes out of hospital and has to face the world again. This time, though, Iain is armed with unwavering support from his sister Gem and the rest of the ED team, who are all desperate to help. But what does the future hold for him now?

Christmas is certainly not the most wonderful time of the year in Casualty land, as several of our favourite characters face their toughest festive season yet.

Here is a roundup of all the biggest stories you can expect to see over the next few weeks...

    1. Ruby is haunted by the Ghost of Christmas past …

Taking centre stage in this year's festive episodes is popular paramedic Ruby Spark, whose life is turned upside down following the arrival of her estranged sister Violette.

Ruby will be haunted by the Ghost of Christmas past when Violette arrives at the hospital unexpectedly later this month, and it's fair to say that it's far from a happy family reunion.

Not only does Violette drop a rather big bombshell on her sibling, but she also leaves Ruby a present she wasn't expecting. And one that definitely was not on her Christmas list.

One to watch: Saturday, December 21.

    2. And she's left holding the baby

That's right, Violette's unexpected appearance is about to catapult Ruby into the all-consuming world of motherhood when she gives birth to a baby girl – shortly before disappearing.

With baby Harmony fighting for her life, Ruby is left wracked with guilt over the part she Violette's vanishing act and vows to find her. But until then, she's got a baby to look after.

One to watch: Saturday, December 21.

    3. Rosa and David's wedding arrives...

It might be a marriage of convenience, but love still appears to be on the horizon for Rosa and David as their wedding approaches later in the month.

As David and Rosa prepare to tie the knot in front of their family and friends (so that will be their colleagues in the ED and David's son then...), their plans are thrown into disarray when Dylan discovers the truth.

Although David tries to convince his pal that he knows what he's doing, will Dylan try and persuade him otherwise?

One to watch: Saturday, December 21.

    4. But a big secret could ruin everything

Dylan's discovery isn't the only thing that poses a threat to Rosa and David's big day – there's another rather ominous cloud looming as well.

Viewers know that Rosa's marriage of convenience isn't the only secret she is keeping, as she also hasn't been truthful about the reasons surrounding it, either.

Rosa has somewhat reluctantly gone along with her mother's lie that she is dying – and wants to see her daughter settled before she does.

Knowing she can't go through with the nuptials without being honest, Rosa decides to come clean and tells David the truth before the head down the aisle. Will he still want to marry her? Given that this episode features the most heartwarming scenes we've had in a while, it's a strong possibility.

One to watch: Saturday, December 21.

    5. Ethan leaves (for now)

Ethan started toying with the idea of taking a break from the ED a few weeks ago, when he started facing up to the trauma he faced in the market attack.

Sure enough, Ethan is set to stick to his word and he is about to learn that he has landed a placement in Costa Rica. But will Ethan part on good terms or under a cloud?

One to watch: Saturday, December 28

    6. Charlie's Christmas spirit is put to the test

Poor Charlie has had the year from hell, and looks set to be facing an equally bleak Christmas, too.

As Charlie plans an early Christmas, Duffy deflates his festive cheer when she brings up her ex-lover Bill – and insists they are going to the cinema together.

A hurt Charlie is then forced sit and listen as Duffy explains that she’d rather be alone than with him, and that he’s nothing compared to Bill. With his plans for a happy Christmas fast evaporating, can anyone save the day? Possibly…

One to watch: Saturday, December 21.

    7. Robyn is Charlie's Christmas angel…

Robyn will prove to be Charlie's saving grace over the festive season, when she steps in to make his and Duffy's Christmas one to remember.

Struggling with Duffy's rapid deterioration, Charlie reaches out to Robyn – in the hope she will be able to provide some light relief on what is proving to be a painfully difficult day. And she does.

Charlie’s spirits are lifted when Duffy’s mood is significantly improved by Robyn’s arrival and they are soon reminiscing over her touching gift of photo album. Aww!

One to watch: Saturday, December 21.

    8. And she'll be crossing over to Holby

Robyn's a busy bird (pun shamefully intended!) this December, as she will also be making a crossover appearance in sister show Holby City.

Although in-universe terms, Robyn will only actually be popping upstairs, fans of Holby City will see her pop up in an episode on Tuesday, December 17.

Robyn isn't the only familiar face from the ED, as her step-brother Max is also returning for the story, which sees them help their old friend Lofty to make a big decision about his future.

One to watch: Tuesday December 17

    9. Rash's problems reach an all-time high

Rash hasn't had the easiest few months, but his problems are set to reach an all-time high in the lead-up to New Year.

As Rash struggles to cope with everything that's happening around him, he will reject Ethan's attempts to make amends, following their spat earlier on in the autumn. What does 2020 hold for Rash?

One to watch: Saturday, December 28.

    10. Dylan will struggle, too

It's not just Rash who will find himself at rock bottom at the end of the year as his boss Dylan is in for a tough time, too.

While Dylan has undoubtedly made a better go of clinical lead this time round, his patience will be tested after a particularly challenging festive season.

As Dylan starts to struggle with the ongoing demands of his job, fans will be left wondering if he really is the man for the job after all. But our next spoiler could take the matter out of his hands anyway…

    When: Saturday December 28

    11. Connie is back

Okay, so this one isn't technically a Christmas story as Connie's return doesn't air until January 4. But we are just so excited that we had to include it anyway.

Connie has been off screen since last summer, when she was urged by her friend Charlie Fairhead to get treatment for her addiction.

In the New Year, however, Connie is back – bolder and brighter than ever before. Oh and she has got a brand new look as well.

One to watch: Saturday, January 4
