Next week on Casualty, Charlie Fairhead will hit rock bottom over Duffy's dementia, while Mason Reede goes back to his bad boy ways.

Here is a roundup of all the biggest spoilery moments...

1. Charlie faces another major setback...

As an already-stressed Charlie struggles to come to terms with Duffy’s rapidly advancing illness, he faces another big setback when he tries to get some help.

Taking on the agreement he made tonight, Charlie takes steps to ensure both he and Duffy are getting the support they need, but is left desolate when he realises that he can't actually afford to pay for her care in the long-term.

2. ...And a devastating situation with Duffy

With Charlie already on the edge, his day goes from bad to worse following the arrival of Sian – a carer who is visiting for the first time.

Unable to remember their previous conversations about this, Duffy is furious with Charlie for leaving her with a 'stranger' and firmly demands that Sian leaves.

Although Charlie is encouraged to go to work regardless, Duffy's behaviour grows increasingly hard to manage throughout the day and Sian ends up bringing her back into the ED.

Later, Duffy becomes convinced that Charlie is having an affair with Sian and violently pushes him across the room.

3. Mason reverts to old habits...

Following his triumph in tonight's episode, Mason attempts to tackle a new task: winning over his colleagues.

Wanting to prove he can be a team player, Mason makes brownies for his colleagues in a bid to get them on his side and later hopes to have a repeat work performance as he gets stuck into a tricky case.

However, this time Mason is unable to get to the bottom of what's going on with his patient and reverts to his unsavoury behaviour of old – lying about his experience in an attempt to impress Dylan.

4. ...And makes another big blunder

Seemingly proving that a leopard can't change its spots, Mason is soon making another big blunder over patient confidentiality.

Despite managing to turn things around, Mason quickly realises that being a successful doctor isn't the be all and end all – and that his boastful nature is never going to win him any friends in the ED. Will Mason ever learn?

5. Robyn can't forgive and forget

Still shaken by her daughter Charlotte's temporary disappearance earlier in the month, Robyn is moving forward from what happened – and keeps a hurt Charlie at arm's length as a result.

After explaining to Marty how she's been affected by the whole ordeal, Robyn can no longer keep her feelings to herself and angrily confronts Charlie in front of everyone in the ED. Can the pair make amends or is their friendship ruined beyond repair?

6. Charlie hits rock bottom

After an impossibly difficult day, Charlie finally cracks and loses his temper following his run-in with Robyn.

Upset, and at rock bottom, Charlie take refuge on the floor in a corner of ED and later tells a guilty Robyn just how much he is struggling to cope with everything.

Charlie opens up to Robyn about the difficulty of caring for Duffy, leaving her with an idea…

8. Robyn comes up with a plan

Knowing that Charlie is in desperate need of support, Robyn decides to drop the grudge she's been carrying over the last few weeks – and steps in to help him.

Robyn arranges for the ED team to visit Duffy and support Charlie on a rotational basis, with her and Marty being the first visitors.

Not wanting to impose too much, Robyn and Marty arrange a face time call for the couple – boosting Charlie's spirits as he realises that he is actually surrounded by all the support he needs.

9. Will and Archie bond

When Archie steps in and saves a hungover Will from partnering Dylan on his shift, he starts to see her in a whole new light.

As the duo get to work on treating a guest patient, Will is grateful for Archie's helpful and friendly guidance and the pair reach a new understanding. Has their friendship been cemented for good?

Casualty airs these scenes on Saturday, December 7 on BBC One.
