    TV Week article:

    ""You Killed My Son"
    A mother strives for closure

The death of Terese's son, Josh five years ago still haunts her. In an attempt to finally find peace, she decides to visit Julie Quill - the instigator of the boiler room blast at Lassiters that killed him - in prison.

Terese feels having the opportunity to confront Julie will bring closure. She's dreamt of what she'd say to Julie and now is her chance.

Terese has grown close to Julie's son Jesse. Seeing a lot of her own son in him, she's taken the young man under her wing and feels helping Jesse is the right thing to do. It also gives her a lot of comfort.

After hearing that Jesse has agreed to accompany Terese to prison, her husband Paul worries that the meeting will uncover how his paying off Nicolette jeopardised the business deal with the Quill Group.

David takes Jesse aside, urging him to leave town and spare Terese the truth. Jesse flees to Sydney, leaving Terese alone at the prison. While she's disappointed Jesse didn't show up, after she meets with Julie, Terese feels like she can finally close that grim chapter in her life for good.

Terese wanted Julie to see what she's missing out on with her own son, so she can perhaps feel part of the loss Terese does. However, when Terese discovers that Jesse is seemingly gone for good, she's devastated. Will she ever find out the truth?"

DS article after the TV Week story:

Neighbours confirms return for Gail Easdale as scheming Julie Quill
"Julie has reflected on her past deeds."

    https://www.digitalspy.com/soaps/nei...-gail-easdale/

Neighbours has confirmed the return of actor Gail Easdale to the show, as she reprises the role of scheming Julie Quill.

The character was introduced onscreen in early 2016, and wound up being a part of the two-month long mystery surrounding the Lassiters explosion. In June, it was revealed that she paid Jacka Hills to tamper with the hotel's boiler in an attempt to claim the insurance's payout.

The event, however, resulted in the deaths of Doug Willis and Josh Willis, Terese (Rebekah Elmaloglou) and Brad's son ? something that's going to be revisited in a future storyline, when a still-grieving Terese sets out to visit Julie in prison.

"It's always great doing any role, but to be able to be Julie in the familiar surroundings of Erinsborough makes it that much more fun," Easdale ? who is married to Stefan Dennis, who plays Paul Robinson ? explained to TV WEEK recently. "Julie has reflected on her past deeds, making her a changed, remorseful character since the last time you saw her."

"Terese feels having the opportunity to confront Julie will bring closure," Rebekah Elmaloglou told the same publication. "After all this time, she's dreamt of what she would say to Julie if she saw her, and now is her chance.

"She wanted Julie to see what she's missing out on with her own son, so perhaps she can feel part of the loss Terese does."

When asked whether she'd be keen to share scenes with her real-life husband, Easdale teased that "anything could happen" going forward.

"Unfortunately, Stefan and I didn't get to work with each other this time around," she said. "I'd been looking forward to our characters creating more mayhem together or becoming lovers."

Neighbours airs weekdays at 1.45pm and 5.30pm on Channel 5 (UK) and Mondays to Thursdays at 6.30pm on 10 Peach (Australia).

Aaron and David are completely floored when Paul turns up with baby Isla.

Though frustrated with Paul for not informing them of his trip to Canberra, the joy of finally being parents soon sinks in and the couple throw themselves into fatherhood, unaware the baby in their home isn't actually their daughter.

Meanwhile, when Jane returns from Queensland, she's full of questions about why Nicolette hasn't returned. But she's stung when her worry doesn't appear to be shared, even by Aaron and David. Distraught, Jane breaks down in Paul's arms, completely unaware he's the one responsible for her loss.

Elsewhere, Chloe is similarly devastated to learn Nicolette hasn't returned with the baby, and has only written apologetic letters for Aaron, David and Jane. Leo also keeps his distance, and despite David assuring him that everything is fine, Leo decides he can't stay in Erinsborough right now.

UK airdate: Tuesday 07 September 2021 at 13:45 and 17:30 on Channel 5

Australian airdate: Thursday 12 August 2021 at 18:30 on 10 Peach

Sheila can't get her head around Levi's relationship choices.

When she accidentally catches Amy and Ned in the act, a worried Sheila warns Levi that Amy's actions are no different from one partner cheating on another. But a steadfast Levi is not prepared to change his mind.

Meanwhile, Terese feels the pressure from Shay to formally agree to the Quill investment. As Terese starts to make the necessary arrangements, Paul puts the brakes on, leaving out the true reason why they can't go ahead with the deal.

Elsewhere, Paul supports Jane through her heartbreak while trying to delicately steer her away from searching for Nicolette. He's later shocked to learn Jane has employed his own PI to hunt for Nicolette. Desperate to put a halt to the search, Paul meets up with John Wong himself.

UK airdate: Wednesday 08 September 2021 at 13:45 and 17:30 on Channel 5

Australian airdate: Monday 16 August 2021 at 18:30 on 10 Peach

Jane is despondent when John 'reports' that Nicolette is in the US and can't be found. Paul persuades her to let it go, at least for now, and Jane reluctantly agrees.

Everyone else is hopeful this is the end of the Nicolette saga. But can Jane really let her daughter go?

Meanwhile, Mackenzie realises the law community rumour mill is in overdrive and Melanie's past is coming back to haunt them when a number of Toadie's clients decide to take their business elsewhere.

Despite all this, Toadie still cares for Mel, but he's torn. Can he stay with someone causing him so much drama?

UK airdate: Thursday 09 September 2021 at 13:45 and 17:30 on Channel 5

Australian airdate: Tuesday 17 August 2021 at 18:30 on 10 Peach

It's Levi's birthday and Sheila decides to throw him a family BBQ. However, the whole Canning household is surprised when they realise Sheila has cunningly planned for both Ned and Amy to be there.

The trio band together to prove they're happy and put Sheila back in her box.

Meanwhile, little did Toadie know, his guardian angel from the Film Festival is Rose Walker! She's back and wants to help him restore his good image.

It's terrible timing for Melanie, as she and Toadie are just trying to get back on track. Toadie tries to reassure Mel, but what is Rose's real agenda in Erinsborough?

UK airdate: Friday 10 September 2021 at 13:45 and 17:30 on Channel 5

Australian airdate: Wednesday 18 August 2021 at 18:30 on 10 Peach

Rose's plan to show Toadie he deserves better than Melanie pleasantly surprises Hendrix. Rose uses the festival project to wrangle as much time with Toadie as possible, which leaves Melanie feeling on the outer.

It soon becomes frosty between the women and Toadie is very much caught in the middle.

Meanwhile, Terese asks Harlow to do some internal research at Lassiters to present to the Quill hotel, but Harlow's approach makes the staff nervous, which Chloe clocks and calls her out on. Chloe is happily vindicated when a sheepish Harlow admits to Terese she went about it the wrong way.

Elsewhere, craving some intimate time with Ned, Amy books a room at the hotel for a private rendezvous. But there's a glaring hitch in plans when she accidentally texts Levi the invite. Though Amy's unaware of her error, word of the invitation still reaches Ned. Three is about to become very much a crowd.

    Mckenzie

Why is mckenzie never picked up on how much her interference into others peoples lives causes so much damage? The character just can't stay out of others personal lives which leeches into their public working life. She should have been sacked ages ago for some of the indiscretions in toasties law firm. Ok, yes it's a soap ... but I do feel they are giving the actor far too much leeway to give them a constant story line due to her personal history on transgenda issues

This is true. And it doesn't have to be that way. They can write it however they like. Give her angles to someone else, someone with more of a busybody vibe. Let McKenzie be a positive character. Especially given how upset she was at others outing her. Now actively going round doing that to others with zero self-awareness. She's become tedious.

Too much of this sort of thing turns viewer against the character. Ellie, Bea, Chloe. They become 'hate figures', for the lack of a better term. All sympathy for Ellie evaporated when she cheated on Mark with Chloe, and Chloe became annoying at that moment too (or before, probably).

They are badly written characters doing things that don't suit just for some spice. They did the same with Toadie cheating on Sonya. Creates drama and sets up an angle but it 'punishes' viewers for growing attached to the character by then seeing them do something so out of character.
